Hi Guys,

I wonder if you can help. I have just added Forgetting Sarah Marshall to my collection but  in the collection list it is displayed with a green border. When I select with the mouse it turns blue like any other disc in my collection but when i click another title it has a green border around it. I dont understand why this is and it is getting on my nerves!!!

HELP!!

That's an option in the program that shades new releases with a green cell. It's nothing to worry about, but if you want to turn it off all you need to do is untick "highlight new releases" in the Display page of the options.

Thanks!!! it was driving me mad.

Is it unusual for new releases to have little information on cast and crew?

Actually, that's desirable. If there are credits in the profile before someone actually gets the new disc, they've probably been copied from another profile without being checked against the new disc, so you can't be sure they are right.

How can it have more.  Our rules state where cast and crew come from shaun. Unless you sit in the theater with a notepad and can write very fast. You will find that sometimes we will list a few actors without Roles. FDor example Will Smith for "I Am Legend" but without the film credits i cannot tell you what his charatxers name was. You could say IMDb, but the that is IMDb and NOT the film's credited Roles and ofttimes they are dead WRONG, which is just one of the reasons we say NO IMDb. We can't flesh out the data until we get the shiny little disc in out hot little hands.

Yepp,
that's what "user generated database" means.
It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up!
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

The barcode doesn't contain information about the film. If it did that would be some pretty effective data compression!!

It would be great if it did though. Would make adding new entries a lot easier. Still have to check them though as no doubt errors would still appear.

Not sure, if it become real one day, that I could trust them. How many times do we see a barcode that a scan reader can't read at the store? At least enough for me to go and check the price many time when I was working at a store.

For that information the only person I trust is me
