| Posted: | | | | I have created some tags for classifying my dvds; Two of them are related to AFI (American Film Institute) 100 Films, the one published in 1998 and the one refreshed in 2007; under each tag there are child tags from 001 to 100 to link the proper film to the AFI ranking
I want to get a printout sorted from 001 to 100, how can I accomplish it?
Thanks in advance for your help |

| Posted: | | | | If your tags are set up properly then all you would have to do is Filter by tags and select your AFI tags. In the Reports screen tic As Filtered/Sorted in Collection Listing. Although, your child tags, 001-100, may select the correct films, they will be sorted by their sort title. The only way to get them to sort the way you want would be to edit the sort title fields . | | | My WebGenDVD online Collection |

I still have the issue, and let me explain what I am doing to get your feedback
a) I have onte tag for AFI 1998 and another one for AFI 2007 b) Each of such tags have child tags from 001 to 100 c) Films from my collection are linked to such child tags accordingly with AFI ranking; some get two links, some get one, and some none d) After clearing filter, I select either the parent tag AFI 1998 or each of its child ones from 001 to 100 e) Moving into the Collection List view the result is the same, all the proper films are shown however sorted by Title f) While in Reports screen if I tic As Filtered / Sorted in Collection Listing obviously films are listed by Title
So if I understand you well, there is no way to get the report as I want because if i have to edit the sort title fields, that could work for AFI 1998 ranking but not to AFI 2007 ranking unless I edit again the sort title fields
Thanks for your help |

| Posted: | | | | Hmmmm. Perhaps you can edit the Location/Slot fields for these titles and sort by location ascending/descending, i.e., in the location field for the first ranked title you can enter 001 and so forth? | | | My WebGenDVD online Collection |

| Posted: | | | | Proposed scheme of using Location for AFI ranking worked well both for the Collection Listing as well as the Reports screen
"There Ain't No Such Thing As A Free Lunch" .... hmmmmm
I am planning to use the Location / Slots fields to their specific usage, so ...
Anyhow, 8balMax, I appreciate your help today, and hope some one could come with other solution or future software releases solve the issue in a more transparent way
