I see I cannot add by UPC and have to add it as a DVD. How do you put in your VHS's and note they are?
Thank You,

I don't do it myself, but if I did I would add by title then use tags to mark which profiles are VHS.

You did notice the name of the program, DVD Profiler, prior to purchasing...right?

If you wish to add VHS, it will have to be done by creating manual profiles.

Thats one thing I forgot. How do I do a manual profile? I do have some movies not listed, some on DVD and VHS are home brewed or recorded or something a friend made.

Click on DVD -> Add to Collection, then click "Add By Title", and then at the bottom uncheck the box for "Download profile from Invelos".  Then you can type in any Title you want and add the profile to your collection.

As Vega stated, adding manual profiles is a cinch but be aware that any cover art that you add to the manual profiles won't be uploaded to your online collection.

Maybe with Global Warming it stands for "Very Hot Summer"? Perhaps he wants to track temperature by date, and all the Heat Index ratings. Though how he would enter dates with the same UPC, (Uncommon Perspiration Content) is beyond me.

Thanks all, I doubt I would use the online portion much. So no biggy.

Better not be!! I cannot afford to upgrade 2 computers drives. One is a laptop requiring a external drive. I am sure even if they go, I can get dvds somewhere for a bit. VHS to DVD was back. DVD to bluray I hear is iffy, some say the see a difference others do not (even with new tech). I for one would not cause, I am not gonna buy new monitor, computer and such! DVD quality is good enough for me! Plus it is another way to jack up the standard prices of DVD's err blurays.
Thank You,
Eric Vogel

One big difference is that Blu-Ray players do play DVD's, and I don't know where to shove in the VHS tapes (other than in the dustbin).

Wish they'd sold one of these a couple years ago!    I transfered all my old VHS tapes using a PC-DVR TV card.  Luckily, I didn't have any HD stuff to deal with then.  Had to throw out 4 VHS decks over the last 9 months, though, because I can't find anybody who wants them even if they're FREE!

Also gave away nearly 400 tapes, and trashed another 300 just two ago.  VHS is a dead duck...

Agreed 100%, transfering at this time some VHS tapes for a friend to DVD, aprox. 4 hours computertime for each hour on VHS no edting, just capturing, cutting to 2 hour blocks and compressing to DVD in iso and then burning

My point is that for DVD's we are not facing such problems for a while...
