Using another DVD as base information |

Recently I've been adding a few DVDs to my collection and came out with an idea that I don't know if it is possible in Profiler. I sometimes buy DVDs from different countries. As it happens in most cases, the same title is already created, but in a different location. So, the question is: Is it possible to contribute a DVD, using as base another one, only changing its' UPC and other specific information? I didn' t find a way, but is there one?

The two main identifiers for a profile are UPC and locality. DVDs with the same locality can't have the same UPC and DVDs with the same UPC can't have the same locality.
As soon as you change one of these identifiers in a profile it breaks the connection with the online profile and becomes a new profile. As long as this new profile doesn't already have an online partner, you can submit as a new profile.
The options to change one or both are at the bottom of the DVD drop-down menu. Just pick a profile that matches your DVD best, download it, then change these options to create a new profile. Double check that all the info matches your DVD and submit it. |

| | Posted: | | | | The only thing I would ask is that you verify the information is correct before you submit it. Sometimes different regions or localities may have different features, different case types, and in some (albeit rare) cases, different cast and crew information.
Also, it might help to review the contribution notes of the source profile to ensure that there has been sufficient documentation to support the material in the profile. |
