Not a vital thing to fix but I think it is annoying every time it occurs.

Whenever I start up DVDP using the desktop icon AND click somewhere else DVDP revert back to some default size.

Top of the line PC with Vista and a widescreen at 1680x1050.

The annoying part is that since it reverts, IT is acctually demanding I do not do anything else during startup/splashscreen. If I do, I'll have to resize the main window to the size I want... again and again and again.

Sorry for beeing so picky

very odd, normaly DVD profiler remembers its last window settings(size and possition). Either this problem occurs:
  • non standard window size
  • write issues in vista?

  • Do you have a standard installation? or did install your specification (location, ...)
    try these:
set your DVD profiler size and exit dvd profiler from the DVD profiler menu: File: Exit DVd Profiler. and reopen dvd profiler. if this did not work, remove the desktop icon and copy the one from the start program  menu and try again.

    in the \documents and settings\user name\Application Data\DVD Profiler\

    Thanks for your suggestions, Giga.

DVDP is installed on a second partition.
I can't say if i have any access problems as DVDP is working (apart from mentioned problem).
The target path of the shortcut does not have any arguments and the other tabs looks normal.

The Layout.dpl file was updated after I closed DVDP.
The bak file remained as it was.
Started DVDP (without clicking elsewhere) and it starts up as I left it.
Resized window slightly - Closed DVDP and both (Layout...) files was updated.
Started DVDP and click once on desktop background. It reverted again.
The position is as previous but the size is smaller: 1038x841

I just tested the program menu route as well and it reverted from there too.

I am    to say the least.

You know, it feels like DVDP invokes some fall back routine if it looses focus the first few seconds becouse if I wait with the click elsewhere until the splashscreen progressbar updates to about 25% it does not revert.

I've done the same test as you described. starting dvd profiler, and while the splash screen is loading (while changing from bw to color) clicking on the desktop, dvd profiler opens to the same size and location I left it previously. However I'm still on XP. So it could be related to Vista or to the new display 16:10 (Ken could answer this last one: if the cause is the unusual screen resolution) I don't have this resolution as an option. I operate on a 1600 by 1200 desktop, still a 4:3 screen format, perhaps if scale down to a 4:3 resolution and see if the same behaviour is there?

Done the test a 1600 by 900, and it seems the same behaviour is there.

I don't seem to have problems with that , Opera takes care of this:

I'm having horizontal scrollbars too, and I use Opera on a 22" widescreen @ 1680*1050
It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up!
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

Confirmed with version 9.51: huuuge horizontal scrollbar on a 1280x1024 screen

Some special settings to be done?

me too, the last screen dump was 1.600 x 1.200 pixels, seems it has nothing to do with opera after all. Must have been tired, (dvd profiler links entering) and most likely I had the small screendumps in the browser cache
