I would like to add child profiles for some of my movie boxsets, such as my Nightmare on Elm Street Collection. How do I do this???

Thanks in advance.

First look in the online if those profiles are already there:
from dvd profiler menu: DVD
add to Collection: by upc/ean if there is a barcode (seperate dvd covers for each dvd in the box)
or add Inserted Disc if no barcode
if none of the above where found
you could try Add by Title (select region 1, 2 and 4) and select a title most likely to fit your dvd
if necessary change the profile to match your dvd (region, barcode, ...)
if none of those are present enter the profile manualy. Once the profile is in your local db:

Select the title for the dvd box, (double click the title in the collection list window (edit)
in the edit window left hand side select Box Set Contents:
in the left colulmn select the title(s) of the children you just added in the local db
double click that title, you should see it appear in the right coloumn
if all children for that dvd box are selected press ok
in the collection List Window you should now see the title for the DVD box with a + in front
if you click that + the dvd box should expand and show the children.

that should be it

Just a quick question about the child profiles (sorry if this looks like a thread-hijack) but just so I understand right.

When I have a box-set (in my case '24 season 6') the dvd's inside the box are called the childs of this box. So, I do register both the box, and all the 7 dvd's inside seperatly?

(In this case the dvd's don't have a seperate barcode, but the idea remains )
Unfortunately, I can't use DVDprofiler at the moment due to lack of a Windows computer.

Yes that's right.
If you have a boxset containing seven discs then you could download a total of eight profiles. One parent profile for the boxset and seven child profiles for each of the discs. At the moment you have to download all these profiles separately then attach them yourself afterwards.

Just to complicate matters though, child profiles for TV series boxsets are optional, so you may find that not all the profiles exist just yet. There is also some debate as to whether a bonus disc for a TV series gets it's own profile or not, so again that may be missing even if the others are there.

Individual profiles for each disc may be submitted if desired, but this is not required. Add these profiles to the box set contents of the parent profile.

Thanks, both of you

I just leave that boxset for now, and will do my others when I've got more time for it.
