| | Posted: | | | | I am keeping my database a the Linkstation Pro from Buffalo. It is basically a harddrive connected to my local network.
A letter mapped to the network drive is used to access it and store the database. So basically something like e:\movies
I am doing this with almost all my programs and only the very cool DVD Profiler seems to have a problem with that and corrupts my database.
And thoughts or any debug version I can use to to figure out what is causing the problem?

| | Posted: | | | | The initial database always has to be in the "MyDocuments" folder, you can't move it from there.
For getting a database in an user-defined location you have to go via DVDP menu "Datei -> Datenbank öffnen -> Neue Datenbank erstellen" here you can check the option to copy the existing database and choose any location you like.
After the creation of the new database you may delete the original database.
The only thing that may result in a corrupt database now is simultaneous access to the data from more than one workstations. | | | It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up!

Windows Home Server has a documented error that can cause corruption of shared files, so if that is the OS you're using, there is a fix from MS, although I believe that is only when the shared files are on the HS machine. If not, just make sure you close the program properly before shutting down your server machine.
