Hey guys,
I am new to DVD profiler and find this program just about the BEST one out there... Maybe I am missing something here, but I noticed that when I add a tv series, ie Friends, it will get that info from online and add it to the database.  So lets say if Friends Season 1 has 4 discs, it will only add 1 entry into the database and under detailed info, it will list those 4 seperate discs.

I want to know if there is a way to show those 4 discs in a hiearchial form or something like that?  And maybe enter more disc specific info for any of those 4 disc..

Forgive me if this is a stupid question, but I could not find a obvious answer on the forum or just exploring the program.  Thanks in advance.

tv series would be a box set. there is one profile for the 'case' that is profiled by the upc. For tv sets these profiles will contain all the information about each discs.

what you are looking for are child profiles or disc level profiles. to get these, you must first set the dvd drive. this is under tools->options->system

then simply put the disc in your drive and the sytem will prompt you to add it (if its already in your colection it will select the profile). You can also click the add dvd and then select the the "Add inserted disc" tab. put the disc in your drive and the system will bring up the profile.

If you have a DVD-ROM drive, insert the first disc and choose DVD>Add to Collection. When the Add DVD window appears choose the Add Inserted Disc tab. If there is a profile for this disc it will appear and you can Add it. Do this to all discs. Once the discs are added to your collection edit the Friends Parent profile and and choose "Box Set Contents". Search for the Titles you just added and add them to the Parent profile.

Ketan:

Your collection is empty, so I can't see what you have. I was going to look for a title you could use as a template for building a set of Child profiles. So I will pick one of the recent ones I set up. Look up The Invaders: The First Season, you will see the Parent and the five Child Discs. You can see how they are designed, then you simply assign the Child profiles to the Parent and you have a TV series set.

If you don't have a DVD-ROM drive, you could always go to Add By Title to see if the child profiles are available.  Or if you just don't want to mess with swapping discs.
Get the CSVExport and Database Query plug-ins here.
Create fake parent profiles to organize your collection.

..and don't forget,, at this stage of your membership,, you'll only be able to put in 50 titles....

if you buy (the one time fee for) Invelos.,,  you'll be even more surprised at all the extras you'll get..
