Account Migration Confusion

I looked in the FAQ, searched Knowledgebase, but could not find anything related to old/new accounts creation/migration.

Here is my problem (as many others seem to have):
I had an account on Intervocative with my online data. I'll call this account "JOHN".
I was able to access all of my information online using the alias "JOHN"

When V3.0 came out on the new Invelos, it said I had to migrate.

I entered my old Intervocative Reg Key, it found my account information, but I needed to create a new account.
I tried to create the same account and alias as I had on Intervocative "JOHN", but it said the account was already taken. So I created a new username/alias "JOHN30"

Is "JOHN" already in use by me or somebody else on the new Invelos site? If it is my account info, How do I get access to it??

I can still see my information on Intervocative:
www intervocative com/dvdcollection.aspx/john

So, how do I recover my original account names? I don't think anyone else has taken the names I have used both Intervocative and Invelos.

most likely another user has your JOHN in use and became his username.
other user using John
so you can't recover that name it is allready in use. Use another allias on JOHN30 that is not in use.

I may have not been clear enough, sorry. The account "JOHN" was only an example.

But, based upon your reply, I substituted my real alias using the link you provided, and it appears to be mine, but I have no way of getting access to the account.

Any suggestions to recover my original account/alias info?

I think you'll find pdog was using "John" as an example without giving his actual user name out...read the post again

"I had an account on Intervocative with my online data. I'll call this account "JOHN"."

pdog:-
Best bet maybe to contact either Ken Gerri Cole via PM, that way you will be dealing directly with the site / software owners.

FAQ: How do I upgrade?
basicly:
on the old forum or in the old program (get your key info and registration name)
get a new key here: Registration
- with the old program download your online collection. (if you don't have it installed get it here)
- back it up: from DVD Profiler version 2.x menu:
-- File backup
- install DVD Profiler 3.1.1 (Build 1171) from here
- from DVD Profiler menu: File
-- Restore Database (browse to the location where the Backup File is stored)
That should be it.

you have to login with that alias and password for that alias
your account is controlled from here: http://www.invelos.com/MyProfiler.aspx?display=account

That giga, as I understand it is the problem...the account alias pdog had at IVS has since been grabbed by a new user here at Invelos so therefore he cant just transfer over to Invelos with his old account details. Thus he will have to go through Ken / Gerri as to his next steps.

BINGO Snarbo!

The details are kinda fuzzy, but sometime last year I tried to do the upgrade and found that V3.0 would not run on my Windows 98 (Network Storage Server, long story...).

I may have created an account, which I now can't access.

I sent a note to Ken.

Thanks to one and all.
