A little story for you.

I downloaded and registered the newest version of DVD-profiler a few months back. Thought I should be serious enough to add all the data on all DVD's for a change and do it properly.

So a few months into the work I am finished. About 1000 dvd's from as far back as 1997. Purchase dates, price. where I bought them and so on.

So today I'm about to update on the latest purchases for a few weeks back. To my fear I noticed that all my dvd's (I'm repeating. TWO months of hard work) have the wrong curreny. I'm from and living in, Sewden so when adding all the data for the DVD's I was sure to use the swedish currency. Now, all of them are updated automatically with US dollars. So, In fact, I have to redo all of them again. Until next update or whatever causes this program to malfunction in such a bad way. Yes, I'm a bit pissed off.

I need to know WHY does the program update all my saved data on currency to US$ from Swedish krona. When did it do it and why wasn't I asked of the update prior to the program doing it?

And NO I can't just do a "flag them all and update to the current exchange rate" as the data is from 1997 through to today. And as I'm sure you understand, the exchange rate has changed somewhat between 1997 and today.

And another thing. When I add a dvd I have the option to change currency, where do I set it to all the time only show swedish krona? Today the standard is United States (dollar).

This was a breeze in the other company dvdprofiler and it never ever changed anything without my permission or knowledge.

Well, just doing a spot check of your collection, it appears to contain a lot of REGION 1 titles, Region 1 titles are US Dollars or Canadian Dollars PERIOD. Any purchase data would be AUTOMATICALLY converted since the Program and few that I know of will deal effectively with mixed currencies. In other words the Program would likely be confused with and SRP=US Dollars and trying to create a purchase price in UK Pound Sterling for example. Your problem appears to me caused by yourself.

Have you got your currency selected properly in your Tools/Options. Though i am not sure that will help you given the titles you appear to be dealing with.

Looking around a bit, the best guess is that your currency setting in Tools/Options is wrong, though.

I don't know where its gone wrong for you. The program handles different currencies ok. I have plenty of R1 titles with the SRP being $ and the purchased price being £.

Are you looking at the correct field - the SRP will always be $. But it's the purchase price (under personalisation) which will be different.

Look under Tools / options -

Under defaults: check you have 'Lock SRP for newly added dvds'
Under System: check the currency selected is Sweden (Krona)

Skip, this isn't correct. The program can handle mixed currencies just fine.

Lucky us, just when we visit our neighbours we have to use £££, everywhere else in Europe we use €€€

But "Los Touristas" sometimes insist on paying in €, and believe it or not it works (at least in Denmark, not sure about Sweden though), so we have something like a soft currency change here.
It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up!
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?
