That's a bit of a leap.  My guess would be he's quoting a line from one of the episodes. 

I don' think the comment was/is an insult or was meant as such.

Hey Rico, I consider you a friend so I am not trying to insult you.  When you say someone's butter has slipped of their noodles you are saying they are not quite right.  After watching the video and you saying you are hooked, I was saying you are not quite right.  I was not offering up a red arrow.  I found the show really BAD as in terrible.  I know we have different tastes but you being hooked to something that bad really amazes me.  Sorry to start a controversy that wasn't my intension at all.

It seems that Americans are very quick to take offense. And I don't see that reaction from Europeans or people from any other countries.

It is actually unlikely that someone would decide to insult you purely for posting a link to a soap on the Internet. Just try and relax and go with the flow..

1. Is fact 'directed at me'
2. On the surface implies with a little digging a new meaning/insight could be found.

That's actually the point of it.  It's mocking American daytime soaps and making fun of their terrible writing, bad and overly dramatic acting, and complete non-sensical reactions to the events happening around them.
