| Posted: | | | | Newbie question---please be gentle.
I've searched the forums for a couple of hours now without success. I know I can do a sort/filter by genre, and believe I can do this on the second and/or third level genre categories as well. What I'd like to do is set up custom categories to define my collection the way I sort them (e.g. Holiday, Music, Television, Jackie Chan, etc.). I know these would likely fit into the genre categories already established, but there are some inconsistencies in the way they sort, and there are some genres where I don't necessarily want to sort that already exist (e.g. I don't need romance to be sorted separately from science fiction). Any suggestions?
The other issue I have is identifying discs that I have at home versus ones at my one-bedroom apt in the city. I think the location feature is what I'm looking for, but will that data be uploaded to My Profiler if I use upload/download in the Online options, or will I lose the personalized info in that process?
Thanks in advance for any suggestions offered. |

| Posted: | | | | UPDATE---you can disregard the upload/download via My Profiler. Just received confirmation on a different thread that the personalization isn't retained. Looks like it's the flash drive backup/transfer going forward. |

You are correct relative to "personal" data and the Online. This is why we say
Backup Backup Backup and never talk about Fight Club.

For example, you could create a tag called Jackie Chan, then tick this tag on all his films. Then, at a later date you can go into Filters and filter your collection based on the Jackie Chan tag, and only those films tagged will show. | | | Last edited: by northbloke |

When you have said Tab you mean tag (there is no Tabs system - unless you are referring to the Tab plugin..) | | | Paul | | | Last edited: by pauls42 |

| Posted: | | | | I'll give the Tags option a try over the weekend and post an update with the results. Thanks for the suggestion! |
