Is there a web site or a tool that is not DVDROM that can distinguish if an HD DVD ( 30 MB capacity) can be or if it is dual layered?  Right now the only way is I could guess, as I have one single disc here (the Hulk )  that is just laden with a multitude of extras on a single disc.. ( 138 min/ Commentary / 3 audio tracks/ a couple of side features / Behind the scenes /and the making of.. plus 1080p resolution  which would lead  me to believe this has to dual layered..  Yet I also have some other HD DVD discs that only contain the 98 movie with only two soundtracks and no features..  ( U2 Rattle and Hum),, probably no Dual Layer..
p.s. I do not have a HD DVDrom in my PC that could read the disc,, I only have a stand-up player .

The reviews over at High Def Digest will usually tell if it's dual layered.

HD-15 Single-Layer Disc
HD-30 Dual-Layer Disc
on the cover or on the disc? near the center hole?

Couldn't find any HD-15 or HD 30 prints o nthe disc or the covers  but the HiDef digest does have most if not all the titles listed as duallayer HD30...  Including The U2 and even Lethal Weapon which hass no extras at all is listed as Dual layer..
So if we contribute any titles in HDD as 'dual layer'  do we have to say where we got the info from?

you could, if the info is wrong somebody will come along and change it, do you have to contribute that field?

On the data side of the disc, you'll be able to find if it's DL or not. On the inner edge, you'll see some numbers and maybe a barcode. If there's 2 "rings" with this information, there's 2 layers. If only single layer, there's only one.

I know that at least the "Timecop"-HDDVD is a single layer disc.
