| | Posted: | | | | I have no clue how it got there, but for the second time now I have an "empty profile" in my collection. The Total count shows 1349 owned but 1348 filtered, despite no Filter currently being set. An export to XML revealed: Quote:

</MediaTypes> which means, the profile has not ID at all! As I said, I have not yet any clue how these profiles get created, but luckily it's easy to get rid of them: Create backup of the bad database and then restore; luckily the bad profile shows up on top (empty check box with no title next to it) and just select them all, then deselect the first one. You know, I have always had my eye on the empty/half <ID/> tag and somehow overlooked the timestamp. Thanks for that valuable hint! Matter of fact, I occasionally play around with time settings (when dealing with Watched events), so that may have indeed cause something to go foul and create this profile. I wonder if this is probably only if I change the time while DVDP is open or... Anyhow, I guess changing the time of the computer will in the future only be done with DVDP closed... The internaL data type is a so-called OLE date, which represents date and time by a signed floating point number. The value 0.0 equals 1899-12-30 00:00:00. The scenario would be something as follows. I noticed this at least twice, but I don't like experimenting with this:
In "Owned", start creating a manual profile, but before accepting this choose "Add to Wish List" rather than "Add Now to Owned". The new profile disappears in limbo. Sometimes it shows up in the wish list after a restart of DVDP, but it is possible in the meantime to create another manual profile that appears to get the same number (and not the next in sequence). So either a matter of no ID or duplicate ID's. | | | | Hans |

I noticed this at least twice, but I don't like experimenting with this: One way to experiment with out risking damage to your database would be to create a "testing" database from your "real" one (you wouldn't need as many titles as in your "real" database). That way you could experiment without doing any harm to your good dtabase.
