It would be glad to let the users add their own Tabs in addition to "owned", "ordered" and "wishlist" so that they can add some films which they don't want to be published online but want them in the profiler.

No, that's not what I want...

Too slow, not enough integrated and so on...

I would prefer a solution from invelos itself... And I think that it would be a nice feature for many others users, too. And could not be so complicated for invelos...

I am a true newbie here: First post. I have only been using DVD Profiler for two days, but I love it. However, I have already felt some sympathy for klattenhoff and his request for additional tabs on the Collection List.

Having the ability to track 'loaned' DVDs is an essential part of this cataloging program. However, I am more than a 'lender'. I am ALSO a 'borrower'. When I borrow a DVD from someone, I would like to scan it into my database so I have a profile of a DVD I have watched, even though I don't own it. I can add my notes to the profile and record my view date, but the status of this profile doesn't fit any of the existing Tabs -- it is not Owned, Ordered, or necessarily Wished for.

I would also like to be able to track the history events on DVDs that 'I' borrowed and returned, as well as the current status of loaned and borrowed DVDs. I'd like to know two years from now who I borrowed that movie from, in case I want to borrow it again. 

There may be better wording, but functionally, I would like to see the follow tabs:

All
Owned
Not Owned
Rented
Borrowed
Loaned Out
Ordered
Wish List
For Sale

Whether they are built in or user-defined.

you can do a lot of this using either separate databases (switching between them at will)
or using tags.

Well, I'm not too crazy on using separate databases, but I have started employing Tags:

-- Access Status
  -- Borrowed
  -- Missing
  -- Purchased
  -- Received as Gift
  -- Rented
-- No Purchase Record

I didn't like the idea of simply 'tagging' a profile as Rented or Borrowed, but still have it fall under a tab called 'Owned', not to mention that some 'Owned' DVDs were purchased, but some were received as gifts!   

I'm experimenting with using 'Ordered' for borrowed DVDs and 'Wish List' for rented DVDs. I like having the segregation and can create 'loans' for DVDs in the 'Borrowed' status so I can easily see who I 'owe' DVDs to. While it kinda works, it is kludgy, and not as elegant as the rest of the functions in DVD Profiler.

So, being new here, and not knowing the culture of the developers, or the forum, I certainly don't want to be 'tagged' as someone trying to reinvent the program. Obviously, the 'scope' of the program is limited to DVDs, not video formats (as I figure out what to do about my 300 Laser Discs  ). But given that, is the scope further limited to a Collection of DVDs that the user 'holds', or is it meant to go beyond mere possession and include DVDs that the user has 'viewed'? If it is the former, then my comments do not belong here as a Feature Request.

I would really like to hear from experienced users about how they deal with some of the issues raised in this thread.
