You can add it as a manual profile. You will not be able to contribute it however without either a disc id or UPC. To add as a manual profile, add by title and de-select dowload profile from Invelos.

There are a lot of DVDs that do not have UPCs or UPCs in a different format.
I do not submit them to the on-line db even if the DVD Profiler program accepts the UPC.
They do show up on my on-line db copy.

Yes you could:
Insert That DVD in to a DVD-Rom drive of a PC where DVD Profiler is installed.
from the DVD Profiler menu select:
DVD
Add to Collection
Windows opens "Add DVDs to Owned"
Select Add Inserted Disc
and Give the title of that dvd

go to a neighbour or friend
loan an USB DVD-Rom

Quite a few DVDs distributed by PBS and/or cable channels like Discovery or Animal Planet don't have UPCs.  I guess this is because the DVDs aren't intended for sale through commercial channels like Best Buy or Circuit City.  I had this problem when I bought the first two seasons of Meerkat Manor directly from Animal Planet.  But NOW you can buy them at Best Buy -- and they not only HAVE a UPC, they come in space saving SlipPAKs instead of the standard keep cases I got.

I think the program material is the same, or I'd consider double dipping.

I'd second the suggestion that you get a DVD ROM drive.  I got one at Circuit City that's a USB version DVD Burner, made by LG, that works better than my internal DVD ROM reading drive -- and cost less than $100.  It was well worth it -- and would play a couple of DVDs that my internal drive wouldn't even recognize.
