Hi all. This is my first post and i swear i cant find the answer i want.

All i want to know is can i have the ability to have multi databases, say one for SD-DVD, one for Blu-ray and one for HD-DVD's.

I looked in the FAQ's, and did a search, which is very hard to read with out the formatting. So any help would be appreciated.

I think the simple answer is NO, you can't have more than one online database..  As far as I know you get one online for each login account.

Also, unless you have paid for a premium account, I think your online database has limits.

sorry had to explain more. as you can have several databases localy:
from the DVD Profiler menu:
- Open Database
- New Database (bottom middle button)
you can export these databases to an online:

I now see what you were getting at Giga. My apologies as i myself should ave realised this. I just assume you misread my thread and pointed me towards on How To Post My Own Pictures  .

well yes and no.

if you have 2 separate databases than only one can be uploaded to the online and therefore visible online. However, you could make a third database that has all of your movies and put that online then all your movies would show online and you will also be able to vote on contributions for all of your titles.

You can combine the database by using backup and restore.
1) backup both databases
2) restore 1 to a new database
3) restore the second but first
    a) uncheck the restore entire database (not sure on the actual wording and don't currently have access to DVD profiler)
    b) check select all profiles, then restore. what this does is add the titles from that backup to the database without overwriting it.

you can use step 3 to transfer new titles and changes from the separate databases so you only have to make updates and changes once for each title. additionally when you make the backup for a transfer you can backup just the new/changed profiles. You could also add everything to the combined database and do a selective restore to update the titles in the other databases.

Additionally, you could take the combined database and set up tags for your two categories (foreign movies and Canadian releases) and then filter the collection on these flags. Even using mediadogg's MyTabs plug in to separate them onto different custom tabs
