| | Posted: | | | | I started to get this always when I start the program. It's DVDProfiler 3.11 and XP Pro SP2. I have about 2100 DVDs in it.What else you need to know?
I think that I had this problem before and then I install whole OS to get over it. Could this be somekind of registry problem?

Edit: I tried to uninstall and reinstall and then restore database, but it didn't help. I tried also previous versions of backups, but those didn't work eather so I think registry problem. It started when I tried to click sort button at above of listing. | | | | Last edited: by reiska |

| | Posted: | | | | Do you have the same problem when you start the program with an empty database? When you uninstalled the program, did you delete the database as well? This procedure could give us a hint if the database or the program causes the crash. Maybe it could help if you clean the complete system from all DVD Profiler entries, including database(s), layouts etc. (documents and settings folder) prior to new installation. Clean the registry as well from all profiler entries. (pls. handle with care!!) What about a standard system check, concerning malware, virus etc.? Last chance: open a support ticket! Tools -> Options -> Utilities -> Repair DVD Profiler Database

| | Posted: | | | | whats the text of the error message? "Exception 0x00000fd" will only mean something to Ken, and thats only if he can determine where that error is popping up from just that information.
One thing that you probably should try before all the uninstalling and reinstalling is a Database Repair (Tools->Options->Utilities) as that seems to fix a lot of problems

I cleaned registry and now it doesn't give any error. After install it start normally and I can also restore some (tried about 50) DVDs. After that it work as normal. But after I restore all or rest of DVDs is it closes after info screen.
I tried repair, installing in safe mode etc. but nothing helps.

if there is still a dvdprofiler icon on the taskbar try this:
DVD Profiler starts minimized and won't restore. How do I fix it?
If DVD Profiler isn't closed properly, the restored window size may not be correct.
Answer:
To fix this, launch the program then immediately press and hold CTRL while DVD Profiler starts once.
you're not running the list window in thumbnail settings? yes, switch to text mode. (top right corner of list window)

-Reiska Sounds to me like you might have a buggy profile. Try restoring your profiles in increments. Do 50 first. If DVD functions properly with that batch add another 50. If DVD Profiler runs fine after that batch continue restoring batches until you hit the batch that makes the error pop up. Depending on the total number of profiles in your collection it could take a while but it will narrow down your search for the bad egg. Edited: Yikes! Restoring in parts worked!!! It' seem that you can't restore large mounts of data in empty database. The database can't increase space enough at one time or something like that. Thank's Max...
It was quite fast to select items in restore window with SPACE and down arrow buttons. It took about two hours, but I took extra backups and I made other work at same time.
