I get an error message when I attempt to refresh certain profiles.  It says "Unable to File, continue anyway?"  I've checked the internet connection and it's fine.
Are there corrupt profiles in the database that can't be downloaded?

To verify this, you should first perform a full backup of your profiles and after this a database repair of your local installation! If the error still consists it could be a problem with the online db.

Welcome to the forum, did you just convert to the 3.1.1 (Build 1171) version?
or you could have a profile that is not available in the online DB:
- Not contributed yet
- not released yet
- wrong locality and removed
Sources for one or more of the changes and/or additions were not submitted. Please include the sources for your changes in the contribution notes, especially for cast and crew additions.

checdk the locality of the profiles that can't download. I did this and found that with some of mine I had a UK locality for an R1 profile. As soon as I corrected the locality it downloaded ok.

I'e got this problem too.  I cannot download file.  Same message.  Connection checked. Upload OK.  Can't update to the latest profiles.

Is there a problem with the download server.  Any suggestions.

Thanks

Does this problem only appear on several profiles or in general? I updated my profiles today without any errors.

It happens when I click on:

Refresh updated profiles from Invelos

or

Refresh Online Profile list

(What's the difference between these two??)

refresh online profile list works ok here. you could try this:
from the menu: Tools > Options > Utilities > Repair DVD Profiler Database
then retry:
from the menu: Online > Refresh Online Profile List (4th option)

Can you publish one of the UPC's that don't work?
We can then check if it's a local or a general problem.
It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up!
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

Have you checked your firewall settings to insure that DVD Profiler has full access?

It appears that the problem has solved itself out !!!!!

I added a DVD to the database and before the DVD was uploaded the profiles were automatically refreshed and the update file seems to have downloaded successfully.  Now the message states that all profiles are up to date!!

Thanks for all suggestions and help.

I will report here if I have any other problems with updating profiles.

Thanks again,

Joe

Here are a few.  I've 10 in all that exhibit this problem.  It looks as though there are images and profiles available for them, but there is always an error when I attempt to download them.  Anyway, here are some to try:

8 Women, 5-060002-835661
Classic Sci-Fi, 5-050582-513738
Hellsing - The Collection, 702272-164422
The Mission: Two Disc Special Edition, 7-321905-116393

Thanks, and Good Luck!

So in this case you'll have to contribute them yourself, for the profiles are obviously not on the database.
Please read the contribution rules first.
EDIT: If any questions arise while creating the profiles feel free to ask. We'll be there and help at our best knowledge.
