| Posted: | | | | Hello folks,
I moved up from version 2.4 to 3.1 in the last few days and have since registered in order to regain access to features that were in the previous release (the free 2.x release was a bit too good in terms of everyday features to encourage people to upgrade, so I have to agree with the decision to reduce functionality at this release). The main feature I instantly missed was the XML export as I still use one of the third party viewers on my old WM2003 IPAQ and this takes the collection in the old XML format and converts it to its own format for viewing on the PDA. In terms of functionality this is all I really need on my PDA and hence am not interested in purchasing the new official mobile version.
I have found a program that will import the new XML format and convert it to the old (which saved me looking into writing myself a mapping tool) which can then be used with the converter application but was wondering if anyone knew of a plugin that will export in the old format from v3.1 and hence cut out the middle step.
Thanks. | | | Last edited: by MorpheusUK |

| Posted: | | | | You can go here to use it in file menu, you have an export to the needed format i used it and it works nice Edit : Not the awards plugin but the regular viewer which is an external tool | | | Last edited: by Dedcap |

| Posted: | | | | Here is the thread for the stand-alone tool. It does support import of Profiler 3 data and export of Profiler 2 and 3 data. Also there is the ability to use command files and therefore automate the conversion process. See this thread for more information. Edit: But it doesn't of course solve the problem of having a middle step. I see that you already have come this far. | | |

| Posted: | | | | Thanks, I had already stumbled across CCViewer via google (that was the converter I referenced), I will try the scripting method as it will at least speed up the middle step. I don't suppose you are planning to turn the import export functionality into a 2.4 XML Export plugin I suspect a lot of people out there are using apps like Pocket Movie List which only support the old format [In my best Mrs Doyle voice from Father Ted]ah go on, go on, go on[/mrs Doyle] Morpheus P.S. Thanks for your efforts in providing the export functionality in CCV. |
