I have several TV Series Sets and have entered each episode as a Child Profile under the specific Disc (Disc 1, Disc 2 etc) and each Disc as a Child under the Main Series Title. The problem I am having is that each episode is now counted as a DVD Title entry in my collection view. Say for example I have 100 Titles showing in my collection, but in actuality I only have 76 Titles, one of which is a Series with 24 episodes. My question is...Is there a way NOT to count the episodes in the over all Title Total? I have tried checking the "None" box for the Collection Number, but the total stayed the same, so if anyone knows of a way not to count them and they would like to share it, that would be great!
Thanks
Jim

I don't think it's counting episodes but the discs that you have profiled.  By checking the "none" box for collection number, you're keeping that number the way you want, however, profiler will count the profiles separately as another tally.  The way I've heard it described is that it's counting how many actual DVD discs you have while the collection number can be used just for the titles.

The collection number is the one on the same line as the title of the DVD while the dvd counter is the one saying "Total DVDs."

Hope this helps...

some people use the collection number as the actual count of titles and give a none collection number to profiles they don't want to count. then your count is not the number that shows after total dvds but is your highest collection number.

the other way to do it is to set up tags and then filter on tags. you can have a tag for profiles you don't want to count, then filter on only profiles that don't have this tag (or the other way around depending on how you set it up). then it the count shown next to filtered would be your actual count. you can then save this filter set for easy loading later when you want the count. unfortunatly when your not filtering, you won't have this count showing (this is how i do it)

Thanks for the replies, but I guess I'm still a little confused. So the number to the left of "Total DVDs:" is counting...Titles? or Discs entered?  I Don't see a Collection number total anywhere. I do see the Collection number next to the Title in the "General Info" tab but that is all.  I went through and checked the "none" box for all the episodes but the Total DVDs amount did not change.  I've just started entering movies so my Total DVDs right now is 42, but the actual number of Titles in the list is 31. So is there no way around this other than using the tags and filtering all the episodes out.  Seems like a long way around to view a Title Count.

the collection number doesn't get totaled. If you only give collection numbers to the titles you want to count then the highest collection number will be the count for your dvds.

the total dvds number is actually the total number of profiles (its not reallpy discs or titles). so if you have the indiana jones box set (3 movies) and enter the profile for the box, the 3 movie profiles, and the profile for the box set you will have Total Dvds: 5 but your actual movie count is only 3

you can use filters to 'remove' the titles you don't want to count from showing up and then the filtered dvds number will be the number you are looking for. tags aren't that hard to set up and there are a few posts that will explain how to do so (i'll see if i can find one and post it here).

so same indiana jones example, you can create a tag called Do Not Count (for example) then check this tag on the indiana jones box profile and the bonus disc profile. then if you filter on all profiles that don't have this tag checked you will get the Filtered DVDS: 3

additionally you can flag a bunch of profiles and then edit the tags on all them at once.
