I've just moved from London, England, to Canada - I've got an all region DVD player so I've been keeping an eye on the UK DVD Bargains thread but the shipping to Canada is prohibitive, especially when you get stung for customs as well.

So how about starting a thread for this side of the pond. USA & Canada DVD Bargains...... there has to be plenty out there, so far in the 4 months I've lived here I've shopped locally at HMV and Music City and online with www.deepdiscount.com - come on everyone start posting those fantastic offer you find, either locally or online.

Thanks - I want to expand my collection without breaking the bank or upsetting "Her who must be obeyed"........

Personally, I've found that other websites that are more devoted to this particular subject do a much better job.  You might want to consider checking the bargains forum on DVDtalk, for example.

Deep Discount has been mentioned...

FamilyVideo.com has good prices usually, and shipping is just 99 cents for any order. Not quite certain about other countries and shipping though. I've had positive experiences ordering there.

DVDPacific.com are pretty cheap, and I've had pretty good experiences there as well. Many foreign buyers seems to prefer using them on other forums.

I have to also recommend Movies4wholesale.com. Great service and products. No they don't have "everything", but damned good prices when they do. Mostly close-outs, OOP disc, overstocks, etc... but I have never received any flawed merchandise, it's all new and sealed with no cut-outs or any such marks on the packages. Last weekend they had the Gladiator 3-Disc Director's Cut Set (new) for only $5.00

Hit any local Big Lots you may see.  Most DVDs there are $3 each, but it's hit and miss on what they have.

Just got this email tonight from Deep Discount. They say it's a one day sale. I don't know if it ends tonight or goes through tomorrow night. Good deal, though.

The Crazies Blu-ray ($13.98)

The Crazies DVD ($9.58)

The Water Horse: Legend of the Deep Blu-ray is $5.24 today at Barnes & Noble as the deal of the day. I guess you can't enter coupons with their DotD, but I successfully used one of the library 10% off links and it ended up as $4.91 after tax.

Dollar Tree has some Universal movies in right now.
They also had some MGM titles in stock a few months ago.
But beware that some of these may have the UPC# gouged out.

Then of course you have Walmart with their $5 dump bin or if you're lucky yours will have them on shelves. Many OOP Paramount, Columbia titles can be found in there right now. Some Walmarts also have TV series 2 packs as does Target.

Here is a really great bargain.

Freecycle.

You just join the group that is in or close to your city and find stuff that people are giving away free.

I've managed to get a few free dvds free from people from my group including a sealed. mint TV season on DVD.

Usually you contact the people for a pickup date/time and usually people just leave the stuff out on their front porch/steps.

http://www.freecycle.org/

FYI: I actually joined the yahoogroup for my Freecycle group. But it looks like the freecycle site doesn't link to the associated yahoo group anymore. Strange.

I'm fairly sure that I joined the yahoo group through the freecycle site, but that was years ago. Perhaps they changed the setup and went independent of yahoo groups all together.

Freecycle is pretty cool. I also recently discovered Groupon which has a daily local deal to jump on.

I can vouch for both freecycle and groupon.

Freecycle is my favorite, I check it several times a day. It's a great place to give things away as well as get things.

I've gotten things for myself as well as others. Some of the items I've received: Hundreds of books, dozens of DVDs, a scanner, dozens of items for my cats and dogs, a chaise lounge, like new clothes and toys for my niece and nephews.

Once you've been a member for a while, 2 weeks I think, you can request items you are interested in.

The goal of freecycle is to give things to others and decrease the amount of material that goes into landfills.

I have never been disappointed in anything I have received. I have had a few people not show up for something I was giving away but then I go to the next person on the list.

The Man with No Name Trilogy (Blu-ray) for $27.99 at Amazon.

I think it might be today only, but I'm not sure.

Quote:
A Fistfull Of Dollars
Clint Eastwood’s legendary “Man With No Name” makes his powerful debut in this thrilling, action-packed classic in which he manipulates two rival bands of smugglers and sets in motion a plan to destroy both in a series of brilliantly orchestrated setups, showdowns and deadly confrontations.

For A Few Dollars More
Oscar® Winner Clint Eastwood** continues his trademark role in this second installment of the trilogy, this time squaring off with Indio, the territory’s most treacherous bandit. But his ruthless rival, Colonel Mortimer (Lee Van Cleef, High Noon), is determined to bring Indio in first...dead or alive!

The Good, The Bad And The Ugly
The invincible “Man With No Name” (Eastwood) aligns himself with two gunslingers (Lee Van Cleef and Eli Wallach) to pursue a fortune in stolen gold. But teamwork doesn’t come naturally to such strong-willed outlaws, and they soon discover that their greatest challenge may be to stay focused – and stay alive – in a country ravaged by war.
