Some discs in my collection are Region 5 (Russian Federation etc.).
There is no problem with cyrillic in DVD Profiler in my machine but in my collection online they are read as (UTF8)
Ñòîëåòèÿìè âëàñòèòåëè öàðñòâà ìðàêà
not as (KOI8)

Changing of script in IE can't manage the problem
Have anybody such problems too?

Unfortunately DVD Profiler is an ANSI application, so it can't really handle text.

While your local machine is set to use a cyrillic ANSI codepage and hence can decode the text the server at Invelos is set for another code page (I would guess Western European code page 1252). As you can see, it can't even handle the characters in the forum (my guess is a database limitation as .NET used to host this site is 100% Unicode).

There really isn't anything to do as long as DVD Profiler is an ANSI application, and fixing that might very well mean a complete rewrite of the application.

You might be able to host your collection on your own web site baed on the XML export (for example using one of the existing PHP based solutions).

Radio,

How did you manage to get DVD Profiler to display cyrillic characters?  I've tried adding a DVD with cyrillic characters, but all I get is a bunch of question marks.

I have the Russian language added in my Regional Settings, and I can successfully switch Windows 7 between US & Russian languages.  I just can't get cyrillic characters to display in DVD Profiler.

I see Lars' comment about a person's local machine setting of cyrillic ANSI ..... Lars, where would I set that?

Thanks in advance, folks.

JMM,

Please note that this thread is almost two years old and if click on radio's name you'll see he hasn't visited the forums since the summer of 2008.

When you click on his name you have the option to send him a Private Message.  you might have more success that way.
Bad movie?  You're soaking in it!
