The problem is that, according to the rules that do not accept any exception in any case ( ), you are not allowed to submit a contribution ( ) ... In fact, I wonder whether the problem is not about the strict application of rules ? | | | Images from movies |

| Posted: | | | | Good god, Yves. GIVE IT UP your incessant whining is getting terribly old. This has nothing to do with the Rules, it has to do with the limiutations of the program and its inability to be able to deal with every possible character set, someday perhaps will institute full Unicode support. In the meantime, take your whine and go eat some cheese...SHEESH!!!!!!!!!! Man it gets old!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

| Posted: | | | | It does seen to be a shame that accurate data can not be achieved. Is it very difficult to enable the program to include this type of information? |

I know what the weakness is, and has been for sometime, Implementation is something I can't answer, I have never used the package that Ken is using as the basis for the program. All we can do is keep our fingers crossed.

Most likely we are talking a complete rewite of the code in a modern development environment (well, "modern" here means something like "less than 8 years old"). It might be possible to hack it on top of Delphi using third party libraries, but going down that route might very well land you in a blind alley. | | | Regards Lars |

Let us suppose several hundreds of polish contributors using different ways for the same characters. We would have endless pingponging that may ruin the online database before the Knights of the Rules could save it by no votes, as they probably would not see it coming... A nightmare ... | | | Images from movies |

I honestly don't know why you continue to whine. Most of the people here don't even have DVDs in your locality. Just contribute them the way you want, let the French voters vote and the screeners decide. Honestly, is it really that hard? | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. There is no greater power in the universe than the need for freedom. Against this power, governments and tyrants and armies cannot stand. The Centauri learned this lesson once. We will teach it to them again. That is exactly the point I wanted to demonstrate, with some humor. When I explained that rules made people fly from contributing, some wise guys that often offer me cheese (they are american and I'm french, so I don't really need their cheese... ) insulted me arguing that there is only ONE database. In fact, now in France (and I suspect in many other countries) there are quite no contributors and no voters, though at time of Intervocative that community was correctly participating. I think it is not good for Invelos and say it, I have personally no real need. I understand your here as "in this forum", and I agree with you. But the users of the forum are a very tiny part of dvdprofiler users, even if two or three of them think they are the center of the world... | | | Images from movies |
