| Posted: | | | | Hi!
There are 2 very annoying issues with DVDP, which should be easy to fix:
1) The splash screen is "always on top" of other windows - this is extremely annoying, because DVDP sometimes takes long to start up and blocks other programs! Simply remove the "always on top" flag and it would be fine!
2) If DVDP is running and you start it a second time, you'll get an error message telling that the program is already running. Why an error? Just show the running instance (e.g. restore it if it was minimized, etc.) This is the standard way of handling restarts and it's much more convenient and logical than displaying an error message!
One more annoying issue which I've reported a longtime ago already: when I edit a DVD and I click "Add Disc", the disc will not be present until I close the edit dialog with "Ok" and reopen it. That's a PITA! The disc should be immediately available in the "Personal" section, so that I can enter the location.
Thanks! |

| Posted: | | | | 1) right click the DVD profiler icon, select properties and edit the target line as follows: "C:\Program Files\DVD Profiler\dvdpro.exe" /nosplash | | | Sources for one or more of the changes and/or additions were not submitted. Please include the sources for your changes in the contribution notes, especially for cast and crew additions. |

| Posted: | | | | /nosplash does not work with 3.1.0. Furthermore, I need some kind of feedback when DVDP is starting, because it sometimes takes a very long time to start (with my 2500 DVDs about half a minute). The spalsh screen would be fine, if it wouldn't be so annoyingly persistent in the foreground.

Regards! nosplash works just fine. Try leaving the forward slash "/" out . "C:\Program Files\DVD Profiler\dvdpro.exe" nosplash | | | My WebGenDVD online Collection |

Just show the running instance (e.g. restore it if it was minimized, etc.) This is the standard way of handling restarts and it's much more convenient and logical than displaying an error message! The reason a message is given instead of "just showing the running instance" is that someone, other than yourself, may already be running DVD Profiler on a network and two instances of DVD Profiler cannot be run simultaneously. | | | My WebGenDVD online Collection |

| Posted: | | | | MarEll: Sometimes, when I have a lot of programs open, starting the program a second time happens by accident.
8ballMax: What do you mean by running on a network? If it's installed on a network location, it'd still run on my computer so it could detect the second instance. And if many instances run on different computers sharing the same database (which I don't know if it's possible), then the program could also check if it's already running on the same computer and display an error message only if it runs on a different one.
So there's no reason not to display a running instance instead of showing an error message.
