I had an older DVD profiler that hadn't been used for 6 or 7 months so I went to try and fire it up to add 8 new DVD I got since it was last run. It took about 5 or 6 minutes, freezing other programs in the process then it finally spits up 2 error messages, one to Microsoft, and one of Runtime error.
I went ahead and downloaded 3.1 and tried to install, the program warned to make backup copy of database for old version of DVD Profiler. I tried DVD profiler 2.5 again, same thing with long hang time and error messages. So I said screw it and installed 3.1 anyway.
3.1 ran fine the first time but I didn't have time to re-enter the DVD collection so I closed it. That was 8 hours ago. I can't get DVD Profiler to run any more now
Restarted PC, same long hang up, 2 error messages. Shut it down, same thing still.
It's the same runtime error with version 3.1 I don't recall what error # version 2.5 gave.
Is there a reason DVD Profiler has a hard time running on my PC??? Aside from oddles of Windows update, a couple games, and updated Firefox browser nothing major new had been added to my PC from the last time I ran DVD Profiler 2.5 so it's not likely other software is interfering.
I have Windows XP Home edition, SP2 pack
2GB RAM (4GB with virtual memory)
total of 700GB hard drives
3.2GHz Pentium 4
I use DSL for internet and firewall is set to allow DVD Profiler to access internet.
I've used DVD Profiler for about 3 or 4 years now and this is the first time it refused to run.
