| Posted: | | | | I'm getting this error when I click on the icon for refreshing updated profiles. I can click it away but the message just repeats...can't click out of it at all. To get out of it, I have to do control/alt/delete to shut the program down. I have tried the repair function and it didn't work. This happens when I use refresh updated profiles through the menu as well.
Any ideas? Thanks! | | | Lori |

| Posted: | | | | That's exactly the same error message that was crippling DVD Profiler under Linux (using Wine). The cause was a missing font (tahoma.ttf).
It seems a bit too convenient to be something similar as you're (I presume) running Windows, but have you made any changes to your computer recently that may have affected the fonts and/or registry?
Definitely sounds like a computer or app problem rather than a database issue. | | | This is a sig... ... ... yay...
Don't understand? Maybe DVDProfilerWiki.org does! |

I admit that I just use the online menu to refresh updated profiles. | | | Paul |

| Posted: | | | | I haven't made any major changes to the computer recently, and yes, I am running Windows. And yeah, like I said, it happens both when I use the menu option and the icon option. Any ideas? | | | Lori |

| Posted: | | | | I may be wrong, but I think if it works in safe mode then it means there's something else running on your PC which is causing the problem, not Profiler itself. If it still fails, then Profiler itself is the problem. But Giga Wizard may have had other reasons for suggesting it. |

| Posted: | | | | If this problem only appears in the profiler you should make a full database backup, uninstall current profiler version and reinstall the latest profiler version and restore the backup. Other options could be downloading the most recent updates of XP. | | | Thorsten |

That is almost always a good idea. Yup, I always download the updates when they're available. Just wasn't sure what I was looking for by starting up in safe mode. I've never had this problem with profiler before so was hoping for an answer and fix rather than removing and downloading again. Thanks for the advice, uninstalling and reinstalling is probably what I'll end up doing. | | | Lori |

| Posted: | | | | I hadn't tried changing the layout, but just did to see if that helped, but no luck! I have tomorrow off, so I'll actually have a few minutes to sit down and futz till it gets fixed, I hope. | | | Lori |
