| | Posted: | | | | I recently increased the memory of my computer from 512 MB to 1.5 GB. Since then I do not have any texts on buttons (OK, Cancel etc.).
I tried unistalling and reinstalling the programme (3.0.3), but sadly this has not helped. If anyone has anymore suggestions, I'd be very grateful. |

It is most likely a memory problem rather than a software problem. It may be the wrong type of memory or one of the chips may be defective. Do you have any problems with other programs? |

| | Posted: | | | | FYI - I had the same thing happen on my Vista machine, but have not upgraded anything. In fact I can't think of anything on the machine that changed since it last worked. The only possible change I can think of is an application automatically updating itself. One slight difference from your issue is that in addition to the missing text on the buttons, tabs, etc, I also get an "Invalid Floating Point Operation" error. |

Are your memory chips running at the same speed? It's always best to get matching brands, speed, etc. |

| | Posted: | | | | The memory is the same speed, the only difference with the memory already in my PC is the size (512 MB instead of 256 MB per slot) and (probably) the manufacturer.
I now have two banks of 512 MB and two banks of 256 MB. This is also the maximum amount of memory that I can put in this computer.
I ran memory diagnostics all day today and didn't find any problem.
The only other programme I have a problem with that I'm aware of at the moment is with Microsoft TeamManager, but this is a known bug, it simply can't deal with more than 512 MB of memory in a computer system. |

Perhaps something got "stuck" when you upgraded, and the computer doesn't think you have the amount of memory you actually have. Don't have any idea if that's the problem. I'm not a real computer geek, nor do I play one on television.  |

I had a stick of memory go bad on me once. Only happened when I was playing a memory intensive game too and it would crash the computer and then I wouldn't be able to boot at all until I put in a new motherboard. Replaced the MB twice before I caught onto the bad chip. |

I'll keep monitoring the situation, but for now the problem seems to have been solved miraculously.

Doublecheck your system board manual. Under certain hardware configurations you may not be able to fill all three memory slots, or there can be restrictions on the size and type of memory used. Last but not least, are all three the same brand, type, and rating? | | | John

| | Posted: | | | | why take out the memory it seems to be an issue with DVD Profiler. Some how it got corrupt. I would backup your database then uninstall DVD profiler and delete all hidden folders.
Be sure you check C:\Documents and Settings\"your name"\Application Data
easy way to get there is to go in to Windows explorer then tools | folder options | view and make sure you check show hidden files
then click start | run and type %appdata% then enter delete any DVD profiler folder after you uninstall DVD Profiler first.
The folders in %appdata% is where software companies store presonal settings etc and you can uninstall all you want but if this folder is not deleted as well you are just spending your wheel.
Removing any dvd profiler folder listed in %appdata% should fix your issue. | | | | Last edited: by Randall_Lind |
