| Posted: | | | | Rob, without specifics I can't make any determination. Your comments about the lack of "extra" data are virtually useless in helping me debug or diagnose problems. Since each field that I am attempting to extract has a name, it would be more helpful to know exactly which fields you were expecting that didn't appear or were incorrect, by UPC. That way, we can keep a loose tally. There may be a pattern that emerges that exposes a bug, or whatever, and then people can go back and double check specific UPCs to see if an update has fixed it. Otherwise, there is no point in reporting, because I can't use the information in any meaningful way. Just trying to help you make best use of your efforts and time.
I now have a backlog of 3 IFO file sets that should give me a good handle on the crashes we are seeing, then I can focus more on scanning for metadata. | | | Thanks for your support. | Posted: | | | | There isn't much point in posting these long debug screens. I get very little useful info from them. I just need the IFOs, but I can tell you ight now that I will not be attempting to handle any encryption issues. I will just try to keep from crashing and punt.(US football metaphor - means give up and move on). | | | Thanks for your support. Free Plugins available here. Advanced plugins available here. This disc is kind of a special case, but copy protections like ArCCoS or an invalid disc structure are (unfortunately) quite common, for example on a lot of Sony or Buena Vista and Disney DVDs. Handling them all correctly may be an impossible task as they often variate in details, but not handling them could (in the worst case) result in an incompatibility with quite a number of DVDs. I hope you get it right, I have no problem if you decide to exclude such discs and your plugin only works with DVDs that have none of this modifications which are against official DVD specs. "It's your barbecue man, and it tastes good." Even if 5% won't work, the result will be stellar. Either way, I'll do some further checking with other titles that use ArCCoS and I hope that this will not result in further errors. |

I went to copy the ifo files for you... and it only copied 7 (of 14) ifo files. for the rest I got the following message... Since I was only able to copy half of the ifo files... is there any sense in sending them to you? | | | Pete |

| Posted: | | | | @Space ... and others experiencing file I/O or encryption errors, I am curious to know if these disks can be played correctly by WMP, VLC or PowerDVD on a PC? If not, there is absolutely no hope that my program will read the information.
If they do, then those guys know some things that I don't and I will continue to learn as much as possible.
In any case, the contributor is the main arbiter of correctness. No program will relieve that person from verifying the correctness, or at least the reasonableness of the information provided only as a convenience. | | | Thanks for your support. I can play them with PowerDVD, but afaik it somehow depends more on your hardware than the software if you can play them on a PC or not. Same with standalone players. That's why I stopped buying DVDs that used this kind of copy protection. |

| Posted: | | | | Can't keep up! Focus should be on the mapping. DVDP doesn't have anywhere that tracks number of titles. Also, I don't see the error you reported in the audio tracks. They are all there. The ones I capture are a roll up of whatever I find on any track, and it is usually consistent with the cover listing or might have a format that appears somewhere other than the main title. If so, it can be deleted before the profile.is created. Another thing, as I have said before, I need help on these things such as Anamorphic. It is not in the data, and not tracked by DVDP (? If so, where is it), so what do I do? How do I figure it out. Please see the mapping document for my discussion on this and my plea for help. What IS Anamorphic in DVDP terms? What field do I fill in or check? Another point is that until I am able to measure the actual aspect ratio ofthe movie - the only thing I can do is report on what I find and guess about the rest. There is no "16x9 Enhanced" or "Anamorphic" in the IFO data stream. Only Widescreen, Pan&Scan and LetterBoxed Permited. Also, if the title says "Source Is Letterboxed" then I check the Widescreen box. I plan to revisit all this when I get Aspect Ratio completed. | | | Thanks for your support.
