"Garfield 2 Movie Collection" All title, no edition
Agreed Then can we also agree "The Parent Trap 2 Movie Collection" all title, no edition (same-same) |

I am not sure how the edition field would really work with box sets.
Unless we have
"Dirty harry Collection"
"Dirty harry Collection (The Directors Cuts)"
Can all these "Collections" and "Double Features" really be applied to an edition field for a box set?
Just asking...

Quote: Title: Batman Collection
But it has all the titles... no different then The Parent Trap. You are basing your opinion on one word being present Collection (or similar I am sure). I don't believe it matters if the word collection is there or not.
But it does matter. It makes all the difference. It tells you that the release in question is a collection of movies and not just a single movie. The title "The Parent Trap" would indicate to almost anybody that the release in question is the single movie "The Parent Trap". It's just simple English!
This is not supported by the Rules... only by a personal preference. Unless you can show me where it tells us to do this in the rules of course. I couldn't find it.
Fine. But common sense tells me that the title "The Parent Trap" for a release that contains two movies just isn't right. I'm through. Common sense tells me to do everything per Rules No matter if I agree with the info I am submitting or not. In the case of The Parent Trap... going strictly by the title rules and the edition Rules it should be how I submitted... at least for the online profile. | | | Pete |

We can't help if the title is not considered "useful enough" for users. So, the title for 'Batman' should be blank, since there is no title on the cover. This would be very useful for the user community! | | | Hal |

Then can we also agree
"The Parent Trap 2 Movie Collection" all title, no edition (same-same) Like I said, that would definitely be better than: Title: The Parent Trap Edition: 2-Movie Collection | | | Hal |

Charlie I agree. They are not "Editions" when we're talking about boxsets. They're part of the title. | | | Hal |

--------------- While there has been disagreements and some of it might have a bit of snarkiness to it no one has resorted to name calling and/or other questionable posts. I've gone back and forth on the subject and am still not sure how I feel on the debate because I can see both sides. | | | HDTV: 52" Toshiba Regza 52XV545U AVR: Onkyo TR-707 Speakers: Paradigm Monitor 7 v6, CC-190 & Atom Monitors Subwoofer: Definitive Technology ProSub 800 BD/DVD: Oppo BDP-93 (Region Free) HD PVR: Motorola DXC3400 500GB w/ 1TB Expander BD/DVD/Game: 250GB PS3 Slim DVD/Game: 250GB XBox 360 Elite Special Edition (Black) Game: Wii Remote: Logitech Harmony One w/ PS3 Adapter WHS: Acer H341 Windows Home Server |

| Posted: | | | | So in all realism, it depends how the box set is presented In one instance the title would be "Arthur / Arthur 2 Comedy Double feature" Other times "Garfield 2 movie collection" But what about this ? We are always going to end up with strange things |

| Posted: | | | | You have to use your judgment on what the title is just like any and all releases. Which I did per front cover... backed up my opinion with the spine (note: The title is not coming from the spine... it just helped me to decide). As for the Edition... Rules Quote: Quote: Edition The Edition field is for distinguishing between DVDs, and for indicating special versions and collections (for example The Criterion Collection, Widescreen, Full-Screen Edition, Director's Cut). It's usually safe to use one of the built-in selections if appropriate. If you are using a non-standard description, take it from the DVD box, and ensure it will help distinguish between different releases of the same title.
Do not enter media types (such as "Blu-Ray + DVD + Digital Copy") into the edition or title field. See what I put in bold... indicating Collections is to be put in the Edition field. There is no clarification in the Boxset Rules. So boxsets is no different. And then at the beginning of the Rules it says... Quote: These rules apply to all kinds of profiles, but there are two special cases where the rules need clarifications. Where you see the icons shown below, refer to the special instructions at the end of this document. These are titled Movie Box sets and TV Series on DVD. Box sets containing more than one film TV Series on DVD
Note: The standard rules do apply for these special cases; the sections clarify specific ways the rules apply to box sets and television series on DVD. Notice the last line I put in bold... it says the standard rules still do apply in these cases. | | | Pete |
