I am only suggesting that those who wish to do such research, or know the proper spelling, be permitted to submit it in order to improve the accuracy of the online database.

Why would you object to other people doing this?

I object to rules that will encourage inconsistency.

Most of the inconsistency we have now is because of profiles created before the rules were in place, or of people not following the rules.

Do I need to tell you that you got this   for this unwaranted insult to a perfectly polite and justified question

That's fine.  I won't return the favor.

As an aside: can we stop with this new trend where people post just to state that they've given a post a red arrow? Ken once specifically asked us not to do that, since an additional post about it serves no other purpose than to further inflame matters...

Of course since it won't be justified at all...
If you think my comment was arrogant you sure read it badly since it was not my intention at all (I ain't the arrogant user on this forum). I was just asking what is the problem to let the users who know how to do it do it and leave the info alone if we don't know how that's all. I don't see what is arrogant in this

That's fine, but when I read a post that begins, "What is so hard to understand" then I hope I may be forgiven for thinking it is a bit arrogant.

And I think that's enough said about this.

Since it's Christmas today I won't say what I really think...

If this is truly a program that is designed for all nationalities, then it should make allowances for as many of those nationalities as is practical.

Unfortunately, it is not designed for all nationalities.

Let's face it, we are talking about correct spelling as long as it fits within the upper and lower ASCII table.  To make this a truly international program, we would need to get away from Microsoft's code page, and into true Unicode format.  If that change were made, then it would truly be international....

You are of course correct.

What I should have said is that it is marketed to all nationalities.  Any program that is marketed internationally should be designed to accommodate international users.

Charlie.

At least the rules should be designed to support all those western languages which are supported by windows-1252. Because those are already technically supported by the program today.

Kind of useless no? You just had one thing to do and you didn't, so why I would change my first opinion on your unnecessary comment...

If you didn't get why I told you about the red mark there nothing more I can do... Anyway you have the same attitude that your friend on "vacation" had, so I can't say that I'm surprise with the fact you refuse to admit your error.

Thanks for the sarcastic wish...

I don't know about you, but I'm going to relax today and not take this stuff too seriously.
