I gather the forum situation isn't improving, then? Lately I've largely given up on posting here, but it's still sad to see that Invelos seems to do absolutely nothing about it. Debates are never settled, nobody ever backs down, nothing is ever solved, and the only thing that builds up around here is bad blood between forum members, resulting in most threads degenerating into... well, this. Once in a while, a thread is locked - but usually far too late, after things have turned sour for several pages. And even when the thread-locking device is used, it's done silently, meaning that again, the issue isn't solved, all the bad blood remains, and it will all crop up again in the next thread. I just don't understand why Invelos continues to let this fester...

This is a fact!

Painfully true.

Got four dvd's yesterday. All four Canadian localities. All four cloned from U.S. localities. Not a single one of them had anything changed except for the cover scans (which weren't so good) from the cloned profiles. Here I'm thinking "Sweet, someone else finally is submitting some Canadian profiles..." only to open them and find that if I had started from scratch I would have been better off. EVERYTHING was wrong, except for the cast and crew, which wasn't in the U.S. profile when it was cloned.

Not entirely sure how on topic I am (who the hell can tell anymore these days with all the bull running through the forums...), but just wanted to vent anyway...

Don't some Canadian DVDs share UPCs with US, but are seperated by locality? I suspect it would be along the same lines.

Yup they do! If UPC's can be separated by locality, I totally agree, there's no reason why they couldn't be separated by cover.

Keep the thread on topic please Merrik you scally

No matter what forum, you can never resist posting pictures of random ugly people you see on various websites when it has no relevance.

Um, not sure whether or not you are aware, but that is Skip.

You should have seen what's behind that ewok. It's lot worse looking i can tell you.

I haven't posted here in a very long time and the only reason I'm here today is because a link to your crap was posted somewhere else so I really don't care if this post gets me banned for a while or forever, I think someone who's not worried of losing access has to tell you what everybody feels.

What you did here is totally unacceptable.  You are an unfriendly person and a moron and in my opinion people like you shouldn't be allowed to use computers connected to the internet.

The 30 seconds it takes Ken or Gerri to reply is just too much to ask for?

I keep picking on Ken and Gerri because they're the only two public faces of this place. If there's more, I have no idea.

The comment still stands though. Instead of letting the cowpie (automatic edit there, I used a much nastier word originally....  ) fester (and that's all it's EVER done at least since I joined this place, and I'd assume much longer than that) would it break someone's legs to get an ACTUAL answer on ANYTHING around this place? ANY answer would be appreciated.

A simple "no" would be better than the nothing we continue to get. With a simple answer, half the crap that flies in this place would disappear. With as little disrespect meant to Ken and Gerri as possible, the forums are run like garbage. We're the ones who paid for the program, we're the ones that care about it, we're the ones doing the work to make it better, it's a total "f**k you" to all of us to never get a single answer to anything around this place. It's seems to me like it's basically a "we've got your money... you figure the rest out for yourselves" type of deal, and with the evidence in abundance on these forums, that attitude isn't, and hasn't been working for a very, VERY long time.

My feelings exactly. IMHO, the main reason for the sub-zero atmosphere in these forums is that nothing ever gets settled. I understand it takes time, time that Invelos may feel is better spent on something else, but I (respectfully) disagree. I'm willing to help, I'm willing to pay more for use of the software, anything, but I'd really like to see (much!) more feedback: debates need to be settled, vague rules need to be clarified, and obnoxious users need to be banned.

Here's a post from Ken from May 20 (!) that gave me some hope. Unfortunately, here we are almost six months later, and nothing seems to have happened... Considering that there are new issues needing clarification coming up virtually every few days, that's really turning out to be a big problem. Currently, issues are "solved" in the most primitive way imaginable: he who shouts the loudest gets the illusion of being "right". Needless to say, it all fails miserably...

I beg your pardon, tim, please don't get me going, I don't really want to start talking about a number iof issues. Such as users manipulating the system by not editing notes until AFTER the 72 Feedback period and then editing with insulting remarks which cannot be responded to. Stop pretending, your hands are as dirty as everyone else's.

And with all due respect Skip, everything that you just mentioned, comes nowhere close to what both myself and T!M were saying. We were speaking specifically and directly about the forums and how there's a distinct lack of communication going on between everyone here, and the higher ups (as you'd have it). Whatever happened with editing notes and insulting remarks has no bearing whatsoever on the fact that we rarely, if ever, get a simple, solid answer from Ken or Gerri to clear up issues that need clearing up, and to stop the crap slinging that goes on in the forums. I’m not entirely sure why you feel bringing previous issues into a thread that has nothing to do with those issues will help the situation.

Here's my opinion of the subject FilmAlba is a bigger jackass than Skip and doesn't make up for it by contributing anything of value. We need moderators.

As far as covers, this is really something that needs to be addressed at the program level. I wouldn't think it would be terribly complicated to implement.

I don't know how complicated it might be, Ace, since I don't have a copy of Delphi. In theory I agree, and i am on the record supporting it (and have for a long time), but Ken also has to consider the issue or lack thereof of storage space. But that's his call not mine, I, just like you, think it's a good idea...if it can be properly implemented.

You think it would be easy like a lot of things should be easier around here but then again there not. Cause frankly your rules your guidelines or whatever you wish to call them are as useless as second hand toilet paper and every couple of days it spawns one of these threads.

Where the simplest of problems turn into ridiculous long explanations which make no sense what so ever. I just aim to prove how ridiculous it is and how ridiculous the ppl are who contribute to this program on mass.

The fact my oh so offensive post which has offended so many of you to your very core    I have yet to be punished by your mods is proof that who ever runs this site does not give a flying f uck about any of you cause he probably feels the same way i feel about you guys.

None of you could agree on the colour of $hit and he rather just let you bitch about it till the cows come home cause there's know hope anything can change on this site.

Possibly he is going to sell it and let someone else deal with this mess.

I am going to try hard to be civil. But I can't help but wonder since you believe this program is so terrible, why do you even use it. There are other programs out there that are similar in some respects to Profiler. You come here from Spot with a well-known and established reputation, and you have verified that reputation in all respects. You leave me puzzled. Unlike some users here, despite your rather crass and insulting remarks to put it mildly, I don't wish to see you banned.

Please stop using that stupid argument. Every people here say the program is great. Just some of us say rules are badly designed, always choose odd solutions, and that is the cause of a bad online database.

The program is great and I use it, and am very happy with it.

The online is bad, and there I meet you, I do not use it.

Excellent Skip and don't worry i do know you are just like me in certain respects. We both have a certain condition and perhaps you don't want to make it known to ppl here what it is as you feel it might prove to be a weakness.

I use profiler offline for the time being but by this time next year the former members of spot should have there new site up and running and will be going there.

Spot might have been smaller but oh my god was it a great system.
