| Posted: | | | | Quoting Ken Cole: Quote: I would say that if the localized voice cast is listed in the end credits (whether in a distinct section or not) when the film is played, then they should be included. Otherwise, not. Thats the point exactly. The film doesn't play anymore when the panels are shown, so it is not allowed to be contributed. For your undersatnding: "the film plays" means, all texts after the final MC logo belongs not to the credits. |

Don't confuse "while the film is playing" with what I said: "when the film is played". If you select to play the film, in the language of the profile, and as a result of that, at some point (any point) the voice dubbing cast is displayed, then it belongs in the profile. You should definitely add it at the beginning of The Rules: Don't confuse "while the film is playing" with "when the film is played!Just to make your intentions and priorities perfectly clear to the users. And: "If you select to play the film in the language of the profile, but not in any other language of the multilingual disc, because too many of the displayed, but uncredited, people would look reeaaallyyy weird in the cast list, and we are a little bit nationalistic too, and you choose to play the disc with a device, or software, that does not only play the film, but also the annoying distributor things before, or after the actual film, and as a result of that, at some point (any point), the voice dubbing cast, or any other people, who are not in the film credits at all, are displayed, then it belongs in the profile, as cast, or crew, or whatever."Yes, that sounds like a good rule. | Posted: | | | | There are people who knowingly do not want to understand. Exactly these people then vote in Contribtions NO. For example in a case of me, when I'm in a correct Voice Cast adding a crosslink from a Common Name thread. They vote NO and as Text: The German Voice Cast does not belong into this film. But it is correct there and I add a correct crosslink and get a NO. This really is an abuse of voting and should be stopped. | | | * 3D TV Panasonic TX-P65VT30J + Blu-ray Player Panasonic DMP-BDT500 My Filmcollection online: www.filmkino.ch * | | | Last edited: by SwissFilm |

| Posted: | | | | The Rules define the film credits:
Where all credited actors involved are listed at the end of the film.
[not: "or after the film or before the film"]
And then:
Take the actor information from the end credits only.
[Only. Not "from the end credits, or in the case of distribution dubbers displayed anywhere else."]
Now after he accepted those invalid Cast contributions, Ken Cole has to try to reach a flimsy compromise. But I'm not that type of guy. | | | Don't confuse while the film is playing with when the film is played. [Ken Cole, DVD Profiler Architect] |

[not: "or after the film or before the film"] This is selective reading because the rules do not define the film credits, they define "standard" film credits. Quote: And then:
Take the actor information from the end credits only.
[Only. Not "from the end credits, or in the case of distribution dubbers displayed anywhere else."] Selective reading again as the rules actually read, " For any film with standard credits, take the actor information from the end credits only..." If there are credited actors listed anywhere else in the credits, they are non-standard credits and the above rule does not apply. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. | Posted: | | | | Quoting Ken Cole: Quote: The rules have been updated to clarify. Clarify what?! We all used to know what a film is. Your further exception in The Rules: "Voice dub credits may be included if they are displayed at any time when the film is played with the language matching the profile's locality, even when present in a section distinct from the other credits." [ bs by me] You remember that this dicsussion is specifically about the lists of other people that are not in the film? Played with what player / player confíguration?? So if all these annoying distributor things before or after the film (like the trailers, copyright warnings, local dubbers, ...) are not displayed when you play the film, then voice dub credits are not vaild. | | | Don't confuse while the film is playing with when the film is played. In the past year, you and a handful of others have held German profiles hostage, denying updates that you didn't want, even though they were correct contributions per the rules, by voting No consistently. | | | Last edited: by ateo357 |
