If the Title of the film is Mad Men and the title shows MadMen
Then the rule would Apply, because the title was run together from the original display. This of course would be shown on the title board, the credit block, and other places.
The rule is a conditional. The first part (If the title is shown run together) must apply, for the second part (but with coloring and/or symbols splitting the title words, use standard spacing) to apply.
Since the title of this is Credited as "YELLOWBRICKROAD", which is shown in multiple places, the cover artist did not change the positioning of the letters in reference to each other, from the title displayed on the title card.

Quote: The intent of the rule that has been quoted, IMHO, was to address those cases where the cover designer takes a title that in reality is multiple words and displays it on the cover all "run together".
It was never intended for situations like this.....IMHO!
Just checked a couple of DVD's I've recently contributed So according to the ones that think this title should be seperated. Check the DVD case for Heartbreakers and Gridlock'd, by their reasoning these movies should be listed as Heart Breakers & Grid Lock'd. The title is run together but there are different charactoristics to each word in the titles. I See Heart & Breakers and Grid & Lock'd. Quoting ateo357: Quote: Quoting hal9g:

It was never intended for situations like this.....IMHO! I don't disagree. The problem is, the rule wasn't written that way...at least not in my opinion. You, and those that agree with you, are free to have a different one. I have no problem with that and, unlike others, will not mock or insult you because of it. The way some of you are acting, you would think that a differing opinon is going to cause some catastrophic profiler event. Let's face it: If all play fair and don't suddenly have this title on their "wish"list then the owners of this DVD will solve this by themselves via contributing and voting. If they want the title as Yellowbrickroad then that's what they'll get. If they want Yellow Brick Road then that's what they'll get. Because neither variant is in clear violation of the rules and so the voters will decide. And that's not a bad thing. They have to live with it after all. | | | Karsten DVD Collectors Online

For the record, Amazon.com has this DVD listed as 'Yellow Brick Road'...three words. So... The Witchmaker Code Red DVD was listed as The Legend of Witch Hollow at Amazon Canada untill I sent them the correct info. So following your interpretation we must list the wrong title in the database because Amazon did an error in their listing when an user created a pre-release profile... Not that I know if there was one or not in the database. | | | Last edited: by Jimmy S |
