Well at least i don't live in a country where i have to phone the fire service if i have a broken leg and it's won't cost me 10,000 dollars to get my cat medicated.

Is that Narnia you refer to?

No a place sandwiched between the the Atlantic and the Pacific.

Yeah 1 only cause i encountered a certain someone on here.

Oh give me a break.  You made 7 posts back in March, none of which Skip responded to, then nothing until Aigust 31.  The first post of yours, that Skip responded to, was caused by your lame attempt to insult me on Sept. 3rd.  So, to blame Skip for your lack of contributing is just, well, lame.

Can someone please explain how this is a put down?  We don't call the fire service when we have an emergency, we call 911.  For medical emergencies, they will send paramedics in an ambulance.  Are those paramedics attached to fire departments in some areas?  Yes, but how is that a bad thing?

If you don't have insurance which is very likely the only free paramedics you have there are with the fire service.

I hardly think your a great example ether Sam. Sam runs a sales business on a small island just off of Scotland. The only reason he is there is cause he  can claim loads of money in grants for business rent off the council cause he is vital employer which allows him to undercut his competitors and get more contracts his way.

I think Sam tried at some point to buy some shares in hairdressing which went badly some where in England

Yeah, not all businesses are successful mate, it's the way of the world. At the end of the day, I employ 6 people in sales and the stores I own part of employ 30 and these guys all earn more than the average in their chosen field. I might get grants to help things but as a small business owner, I don't see hows thats as bad a thing as you living off my tax money and claiming sick because you have aspies. It's not like you can't work...

I volunteer at Oxfam and im going to collage in January. I rather see money capital investment outside of secondary industry's as most of these as you said are not successful. The one thing this country needs is a strong manufacturing sector again thats where our investment should be going rather than shipping it all off to China and such.

You deliberate took advantage of the fact you knew you get more grants off the government if you moved to smaller area and a business model when forced to compete on the main land would not get the money to start it up let alone  keep it running.

EDIT:To late i quoted you

I ran it successfully for 5 years on the mainland mate (with zero help from anybody starting at age 17). The councils in the areas I was in introduced new local laws making it difficult to continue so don't talk about things you know f all about (although of course that would narrow your posts down to Gordon Strachan, knives, Irn Bru and battered mars bars).

I don't know where you are getting your information from, but you are sorely misinformed.  When someone has an emergency, they call 911, and the proper services are sent...police, fire or paramedics.  Nobody, and I mean nobody, checks to see if you have insurance first.

So what happens if you need to be taken in for medical treatment then?
