I have a free registration for the old 2,4 version. Now i have the new 3,x installed and i have to questions:

1: I have around 1000 DVD's registered in the old version so to use the new version i have to buy a registration key, correct?

No, but the functionality will be limited in both the local program and the fact you cannot use the online collection at all with more than 50 titles.

It would be sensible and worthwhile upgrading.

2: How do i get my collection from the old version into the new?

Use the backup collection function in 2.4, then use the restore collection in 3.

You don't have to, but the funtionality of the free version is so limited that I would strongly advise it.

No, it seems to be a bug, I tried it with the mobile reg and got the same error. That's in both Seamonkey & IE 6.

Any news on this issue? If it makes any difference I am using Moz on Vista.

The answer seems to be that they've dropped shareit.

I'm having trouble with my DVD Profiler. I'm using 2.x something or other, and would like to retain my database (I see that part is easy) as well as my online collection.

How do I go about doing this? I'd like not to change my website too much if possible.

Thank you.

Do a File -> Backup in 2.x

Download and install 3.x

Do File -> Restore in 3.x

You then have your 2.x database fully into 3.x

Then do Online -> DVD Profiler Online

Fill your username and password for Invelos, and it will upload your collection.

Your new collection link will then be:

Tuvok, Tuvok, Tuvok ... you've proven time and time again that you can't think, why do you still try?

You either had a free key, than you have to live with the limitation of the free 3.x Version or pay.

Or you had a premium key than you can easiely convert it to a 3.x key here (this is a link, klick it!)

Yes you´d say, but why could I see intervocative online for free
and now i must pay for that?
why I could have 2000 DVD´s for free in INtervocative Times
and Now I can have 2000 dvd´s but don´t see it online?
Just to pay 30 US $ for Online Exhibition is to much

Just a tip for those updating.....do a database repair using your old version before you do a backup, install of the new version and import of your old data. It will save you several miserable hours of pain.

How do you do that?

I got spoofed with my paypal account, so I have it limited.  However they wont let me pay with any card I have associated with the account.  Paypal got hacked big time, and they are clueless on how to save themselves.  This was the last time I'm using them, I mean it this time.

Don't worry, Gerri's said in the past that they're working on other forms of payment, so hopefully Paypal can be avoided in the near future.
As for repairing your old database: In the old program, go to Tools menu, and select Options
Last tab along, Utilities - there's a button marked "Repair DVD Profiler Database"
