Digital media is included with physical media as corporations know people will buy them.

Only based on what they think right now, until further research shows otherwise. Based on the poll to this thread, I would bet that "digital copy" days are numbered.

I noticed that a lot of BD Live services (like MovieIQ) have closed. People simply didn't use them. It doesn't make sense to pay to maintain what no one uses.

My fears are that people will eventully (like in the next 50 years) lose the ability to control their own equipment, and their own media, including books. It really scares me when I see people who have no problems with giving up control, losing rights and abilities, and getting less for either the same or more money. And it seems I see that a lot nowadays. Not from everyone, but from way more than I would expect.

In your quote, you left out the part where I said if the company saw the scheme wasn't working they would abandon it.

The comments I have made, are in regard to other comments you have made in the forums, from purchasing of software to selling keys to loaning keys and so on and in one or more case the listing of places software which may not be on the up and up could be located or possessed.  This is NOT a witch hunt.  I offered you the chance to avail yourself when I said please correct me if I am wrong.

I have no idea what you're talking about, and frankly, it's kind of creepy. Back off. I don't need to "avail" myself on an Internet forum, especially to the likes of you.

What is needed is a way to purchse the Digital Copy only.
Studios should setup a site where the user can go and purchase a Key only. As pointed out above, why should we pay extra for the Digital Key, when most of us do not want it.

I have no issues 'Giving Away' this key, it is not piracy, as it has been purchased ligit, and can only be used once by a user. And if someone wants to Buy this key off of me, no issues, as no different from selling a physical media to a second hand shop. Actually if you read the fine print on DVD media, it says that they cannot be traded, IE brought at second hand store.
