| Posted: | | | | Quoting Corne: Quote: I haven't seen this film, but hypothetically speaking I have watched it and I saw, lets say, ten basketball players playing basketball for a couple of minutes in the film. In the most ideal situation I even recognize the actors playing those players. In the end credits I don't see them listed directly under the Cast heading but later on after the sound credits. In your reasoning I'm not allowed to add them. The only option would be as uncredited but then the actual credits are contradicting this. Can you see where I'm going? Yes I can corne. What I font understand however is how we have a denied cast list, that is not defined or is defined based on I want it. Uncredited, hmmmm, idea, but ad you said. Kathy is way out in left field, sorry Kathy. What everyone is missing here is that I am begging for a reason to say cool that works, and all I keep seeing for the most part Is pure garbage. I have gotten a couple if small morsels, maybe enough and I can then make it mean something. | | | ASSUME NOTHING!!!!!! CBE, MBE, MoA and proud of it. Outta here

It is clear they should be crew only, and since we don't have an entry for "basketball players", you can only keep them local, Sam. Anything else you are just shoehorning in data that doesn't belong. Read the rules, people. They are very clear on this.
KEEP FIGHTING THE GOOD FIGHT, SKIP! As usual alien, you don't understand and are not even close to helpful. | | | ASSUME NOTHING!!!!!! CBE, MBE, MoA and proud of it. Outta here

With the exception of Skip, since everyone is in agreement in valid Cast, maybe it would be best to ignore him until he posts the section of the rules that back up his statements.
Will he be able keep his lone crusade and match the 11 pages in that thread? | | | Last edited: by Kathy |

You continue with that attitude, buster, see if I agree with you again. Not an attitude, alien. I am sincerely trying to find something I can make sense of. I know what they want but the arguments aren't valid. This one is particularly annoying because I can't figure it out at all. Usually I can say not today, maybe tomorrow, but this particular issue I can't even figure that out. | | | ASSUME NOTHING!!!!!! CBE, MBE, MoA and proud of it. Outta here

Kathy You truly are so clueless and ad usual when you can't argue your point effectively you start with insulting comments. Ilk try again, I am looking for a reason to say yes.II would love to see someone say something and I could say there it is. But I haven't seen it and I can't see it myself. So. Are you going to help are simply throw darts. I'll tell you if you're argument holds water, don't take it personally, I want to see one that will hold water. You might want to look at your own posts - include the Orion one while your at it - to see exactly who uses insults and disparaging remarks in their posts. I have quoted the relevant part of the rules that bolsters my stance as well as every other person in the thread - except you. "You truly are so clueless and ad usual you can't argue your point effectively you start with insulting comments." If you can't see it, I suggest you bone up on the rules. Maybe then you can quote the section that proves that everyone is wrong. |

Fyi I am limited in what I can cut and pastewith this hardware. And I don't think Iwant to type it for obvious reasons, lol. I don't want to play who shot john with you, that's a wasted exercise. All I want is someone anyone to say something that makes sense. You can't randomly just decide that is something when its not. This one upsets me because it is something thatvi can't resolve, I can't even say not the rules today, maybe tomorrow. Come up with something that will let me say yes. You are great at saying just ignore him he's just one user, insulting on its own. When I am arguing I am desperately trying to find a positive answer, but there simply is not an answer that is logical and rational. | | | ASSUME NOTHING!!!!!! CBE, MBE, MoA and proud of it. There are many posts, including mine which quoted the rules, that clearly shows that these are legitimate Cast. You on the other hand have stated lots of things but NOT ONCE, despite repeated requests, have you shown us the rule(s) that back them up. So, unless you can back up your statements, they mean nothing since "You can't randomly just decide that is something when its not.". You have been arguing your position for over 3 years as I have shown with the puppeteer thread I posted. You were wrong then and you are wrong now. The rules say so. |

| Posted: | | | | Quoting Winston Smith: Quote: I said the same thing about additional voices which are separated from the cast, but are thrown into crew. What makes them cast, if they were cast they would be listed with cast
I know they are allowed, and it is one of those ken things that makes no sense. If we can just decide this bunch of data is actually cast, then all crew is basically cast ad well or most of it anyway. Yes, you did say the same thing to Ken about the fact that additional voices are separated from the cast. He didn't respond to you and he allows additional voices to be submitted to the database. We can infer from this that he will allow credited on-screen basketball players to be submitted. And no, the sky is not falling. We do not have to throw our hands up in the air and declare that all crew is cast because of these basketball players. As I said in my prior post, it's context. We use context frequently in our interpretation of film credits. Context is not random. It involves paying attention and exercising thought. Film credits aren't "data". They're film credits. We make many decisions as we see the credits with our eyes and translate them through our brains and fingers, at which point, we have data from film credits. There's no conveyor belt scraping the letters off the screen and blowing them through a script into the database fields in DVD Profiler. | | | ...James

Yet again you choose an insulting approach but I will ignore it.
You claim Ivan wrong on puppeteer. I will say you are wrong, just as wrong .as you have been with so many rules that you have never crested a successful argument for. But let's look at puppeteer since you bring it up. There are movies that legitimately include puppeteers in the cast listing...good. That does not make puppeteers which are included with crew cast members, they are crew except in your mind. Similarly with additional voices. I am looking for something beyond your I want it to be true so it is. Because its not. By your oh so simple argument, as I have said, literally every crew member is cast. There is no way to separate that data except arbitrarily. Essentially you are saying I think this is cast so it is, with the discriminatory removed s key grip could be cast, heck all the people listed st the very end of Return of the King could be cast, except for Martians argument about roles, but that would not eliminate key grip because that is a role. So how do we do this, throw darts at a board, even numbers are cast, odd is not, or maybe a roulette wheel. I am asking for substance and thevreason for your attitude is because you can't provide an argument if substance...I wish you could. Your argument is very simple and very wrong, it is true because you say it is. Please give me something I can sink my teeth into, someone...anyone. I don't care, I am trying here but can't come up with anything | | | ASSUME NOTHING!!!!!! CBE, MBE, MoA and proud of it. Outta here

Kathy even now hasn't said anything at all offensive, unless the truth is... Quoting Winston Smith: Quote: You claim Ivan wrong on puppeteer.
