Which one (general) you think is more likely? Forums have slowed down because:

A) Skip has left the building
B) People has learned that Invelos partisipation at forums is non existing etc. etc.

Definitely A.

"B" is the main reason I now can go several days without checking the forum which for years was on my daily multiple visitation list. Skip never kept me from visiting.

Certainly the raging discussions generated a lot activity. While the tone of those discussions often lead to discord, the technical basis for the discussions (contributions rules, what IS DVDP, etc.) were usually valid and interesting topics. Maybe we are having fewer of those, or maybe they are resolved more quickly??

The other factor I think is that there has been no new beta or other interesting announcements from Invelos. Of course that would really stir the pot. I think somebody else also mentioned this earlier.

B. Definitely.  The participation/non-participation of any one person isn't the reason to come around here or stay away.

I think it's sweet that he can generate 4 pages (so far) of comments and discussion without actually even being here.

I hope he's okay though.
Do you ever find yourself striving for perfection with an almost worthless attempt at it?  Guttermouth "Lemon Water".  Also, I include in my Profiler database VHS tapes, audio DVDs, audio books (digital, cassette and CD), video games (digital, DVD and CD) and 'enhanced' CDs with video tracks on them, as well as films and TV I've bought digitally.  So I'm an anarchist, deal with it.  Just be thankful I don't include most of my records and CDs etc in it too; don't think I haven't been tempted...

Maybe we should send him a "get well" card signed by all the members here.

Can't say that I've had any problems with Skip though, at least nothing I can remember. So yeah, I hope he's ok.

On a conspiracy note, did you realize that the absence of Skip coincides with the long time absence of Ken?

Also, quoting Floorwalker:

It might be, if that person is Ken.

I've had my run-ins with Skip and he could be extremely infuriating, but I still miss him...
I hope he is okay.

You know, when I first started using DVDProfiler and frequenting these forums I though that Skip was an alter ego for Ken allowing Ken to make comments that he couldn't make as himself. I'm no longer convinced that this is true, but...

I found the forum much more interesting when Skip was super active here.  I didn't like his bullying tactics, but he made it better.  It was also better when political discussions were allowed.  Just my opinion, sorry if I upset anyone.

I check the forums once every month or so, and comment every 3 or 4 months or longer.  There just isn't anything that stimulates involvement.

I do hope everything is fine with Skip.

I think the forums need a new version (preferably a big upgrade, like 4.0) to become active again.  We've had 3.7 for about a year and ran out of things to talk about.  The main arguments that still rage on are essentially the same ones that have been brewing throughout the product's lifespan (the parsing of Asian names, accents, etc.).

As for Skip, I've never personally had any issues with him, but can understand the frustration he caused in many others.  The one thing I can say is that he definitely loved this program and his [apparently self-imposed] absence is troubling.  I hope he's okay.

Srehtims said on page 1 that he knows whats with Skip but he isn't allowed or willing to tell us, but as he says, physical and health wise is not the issue, I am assuming Skip is ok.

Synnerman exactly brought it up to the point, everything that could be discussed about the current version of the program has been discussed many times.
The issues that are there, will remain unresolved until Ken decides to maybe come back here.

But I do not think that the forums are deserted. The General forum is pretty active imho and I see new contributors and voters on a daily basis. So this part of the program is still very much alive.

If we ever get an update again, who knows, but I can live with the current state the program has, the issues do not concern me that much anymore, I learned to live with them.

But would be cool if Ken would say something bout the development state and if Skip (or someone else) would say something about Skip's whereabouts.

You're right .. I reread srehtims .. and like his monikor.. I read it backwards  I thought he wrote-
I know Nothng  (pause) ....physical or healthwise ..  instead of    I Know.,,,,    Nothing physical or Healthwise....

I think I know as well .. and if he is okay physical and Healthwise .. that's good enough for me ..

it's also possible Skip changed ( again ) his name / avatar  and created new account ...
