Wow, I have Walt: Behind the Myth as well. 9 bucks from the Disney Movie Club. Glad I got it when I did!

I also have Kinky Boots that goes for $30 used, which is a pretty good deal for me since I bought it at $10.

I probably have a Disney movie or two that are worth something but like someone else already mentioned, those are only rare until Disney puts out another release. I had Lion King and Beauty and the Beast when they were really out of print and hard to get, but now, they're not worth too much.

I have the 3 original Star Wars with the original cuts, but mine seem to be different than others as they are only running in the $30 range used, each.

Probably the only others I can think of are some OoP Wizard of Oz cartoons--the ones that were on Showtime, I think. They can go for 20-50 dollars used depending on how many are available at the time.

They are all the same, just different packaging really. Looks like the boxsets with all 3 get a little extra $ right now, but all the solo movies are quickly rising too. A couple weeks ago they were starting around $13 on amazon, now they're $30 or so.

No one cares about the prequels, they're still cheap so if you want non-digital Yoda in Ep. 1, you can still get it.

The problem with Disney is every 10 years stuff gets re-issued. In the early days of dvd this meant their stuff was like gold, wait for it to go in the vault, and watch the prices skyrocket. Now people are more savy and last titles released before Blu-ray never took off like the first dvds did.
I ate a couple copies of Beauty and the Beast 2disc as well. Meant to sell, but the prices never got very high, now BD is out and no one cares about my old sealed dvd. I wouldn't be shocked if some starting collecting Disney titles though, so those old discs might still be worth a little something something down the road to a completest.

Re-issue is the death of high value discs. I remember the old Platoon dvd from Artisan used to sell for $80-100 on ebay, then when MGM put out their first SE it dropped to 8 or less. I think it's still around the 1-5 dollar range now, maybe less with ther blu-ray out. On the flip-side of that, a re-issue of a lesser quality version makes the old ones go up, like the Echo Bridge and Image releases are probably doing right now. I know they're making me hunt down old dvds while still cheap, as their dvds and bds are all messed up in one way or another, some many times over.

I wouldn't be too quick to dump the early Disney animated releases just yet.  Since Disney has been on a campaign to "spruce up" their old classics with re-imagined coloring for the Blu releases, purists are starting to value the original releases.  Think Alice in Wonderland or Peter Pan here.

Another one I remembered while looking through my collection: Dinner for Five: The Complete Series. The season 1 DVD is available on Amazon but the rest are contained in Best of sets or On Demand. I don't even see any available for sale via third party sites...

Thanks for the news, I actually hadn't heard anything of the sort until you said it but it makes sense in a way. I usually don't check Disney threads or sites so I was in the dark. Plus I still have the very first Peter Pan dvd, no wonder there's long lines for the old discs on swapadvd (I thought of dropping em there for a second, but never did).

and here I was thinking they were restoring the proper colors for BD...
Sad they are not.

I spent years looking for an old ABC movie of the week called "The Midnight Hour" and finally got a copy a few years back. It's now going used for $130 at Amazon....

I still have a copy of The Muppet Christmas Carol on VHS. Been meaning for years to finally get that VHS copy on to disc, and then store on my computer. As one of my favourite christmas films has been totally wrecked forever! They took the scene out in the DVD version where Michael Caine sings, deeming it to be to melodramatic. It's the best scene in the film and is central to the character of Scrooge.

Sleeping Beauty was another one that has been completely fubared for Blu.  Some of the screen shot comparisons to previous versions floating about on the net will just make you sick.
