| Posted: | | | | From the Contribution Rules:
"List individual credits only, not company name credits. Exception: If a company name heads a group of crew, use the Group divider to enter the company name."
Doesn't this address the intended use of Dividers in crew? |

Edited for Angry response, just had enough of having the same argument over and over again when one quick post by Ken could put an end to it | | | Last edited: by ninehours |

Doesn't this address the intended use of Dividers in crew? No because that just makes it possible to enter a company name or else that wouldn't be allowed by this rule in the first place. Hence the use of 'if'. It refers to the 'no company name' rule. | | | Cor |

| Posted: | | | | Perhaps Nick, he is weighing the information he has. Personally speaking if he follows the poll he will be making a dreadful decision. I can see it and i would hope since he is the designer that he can see that error as well | | | ASSUME NOTHING!!!!!! CBE, MBE, MoA and proud of it. Outta here

| Posted: | | | | Ken did hint in the Rules Committee Forum that his preference was to use the extended details, at the moment the poll is 46 to 32 (if the field length is increased) against using them but it is his programme so if he wants to use the extended details that is perfectly fine after all it is his programme, it's just right now i am tired of the arguments about divider formatting and just want him to make the decision one way or the other |

| Posted: | | | | He will make the decision when he is rea, Nick. Not because you want him to or because I might want him to. I can tell you that ife follws the poll it would be a major disaster, which would ltimatelywind up makin the VE section of even less value than it is right now.Ken works on his time table and continual umping and now yelling wil not help and may in fact only slow him down. The difference of course being that some people bring up the same point every time, whether it's appropriate or not, even though a decision has already been made and made public several times while ninehours is still waiting for a definitive answer and he only uses a single thread for it instead of shoehorning it into every discussion. Nearly three years after Ken's "clarification", there is still nothing in rules, and recently Ken wrote : Quoting Ken Cole: Quote: Ideally any replacement system will also improve upon the current system: - Allow entry of properly accented and formatted names

Seems some users love spelling mistakes much more than Ken. Which doesn't change the fact the rules are, on this subject, quite clear so until they change or an opinion is needed in which way they could improve there really is no point in bringing it up all the time. Mind you, i agree the linking system needs to be overhauled, preferably without the CLT which is a poor tool if you ask me, but this discussion should not be brought up in every thread there is! And about the overview, i couldn't disagree more, if it's on the cover, copy it, can't be much clearer Paul |
