Roseanne: Season 4 - Santa Claus
While playing Santa at Rodbell's, Roseanne meets Darlene's newest friend, a 39 year-old woman who runs a bookstore. Rosie goes to the bookstore to learn more about Karen, but instead learns more about her own daughter.

My Thoughts:
This is a fun episode.I liked how they had Roseanne as Santa and Jackie as Mrs. Claus. But to be honest with you... I thought Jackie's Mrs. Claus was funnier then Roseanne's Santa. The storyline of Darlene and her friend was enjoyable as well.

A Charlie Brown Christmas
Peanuts classic holiday special, with Charlie Brown's Christmas blues, rehearsals for a Christmas play and a spindly little tree.  And maybe the meaning of Christmas, somewhere...

My Thoughts: A true holiday classic, this is the best of all the Peanuts specials.  Memorable from start to finish, with all the little touches that make it the truest expression of Peanuts in cartoon form.  Justifiably holds its place as a Yuletide tradition.

My Rating: 3/5 (solidly entertaining)

It's Christmastime Again, Charlie Brown
A collection of unrelated Christmas themed stories, where Charlie tries to sell wreaths door-to-door, Linus tries to tell Sally about Christmas, and other stories.

My Thoughts: A bonus special on A Charlie Brown Christmas, this isn't nearly as good.  But it is as good as I Want a Dog for Christmas, Charlie Brown, or perhaps a little better since it didn't have any of the modern touches of that one.  Not good enough to stand alone, it's still an enjoyable bonus cartoon.

My Rating: 2/5 (an entertaining waste of time)

The Real Ghostbusters: Season 1 - Xmas Marks the Spot
During a snowstorm, the guys enter a time slip where they unknowingly bust the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Future before Scrooge learns his lesson thus changing history. Egon must enter the containment unit to return the ghosts and make things right while the three other Ghostbusters pose as the ghosts themselves! Can Christmas be saved?

My Thoughts:
Brittany and I found this on On-Demand and just had to watch it. I used to love this cartoon... and would love to be able to get the DVDs to revisit the series. This episode is an entertaining idea for a Christmas episode. Which aired as a two part episode originally... but they put the two parts together for the On-Demand showing.

The Polar Express
Do you believe in Santa?  Is seeing believing?  Will you take a ride on an express train to the North Pole when offered?

My Thoughts: I know this got mixed reviews, and I'll be the first to agree that the animation is not done the way I would have chosen to do it  - I'm still not fond of motion capture, as the characters just don't look 'right' - but I still enjoy this movie a lot.  The rest of the animation is beautiful, the predictability and sweetness are perfectly acceptable in a Christmas movie, and I especially like that the girl is the leader of the group.  (Spectacular in IMAX 3-D, but still very pretty on DVD.)

My Rating: 2.5/5 (an entertaining waste of time)

Tales from the Crypt: Season 1 - And All Through the House
On Christmas Eve a woman slaughters her husband and learns that she's on Santa's naughty list when an escaped maniac dressed as Santa Claus shows up at her doorstep with a special present for her.

My Thoughts:
Of course being a Christmas episode this time we have the Cryptkeeper dressed like Santa. Now this episode I enjoyed more then I did the first one. Matter of fact it remains on of my favorite episodes. This episode also made me a fan of Larry Drake in horrors. I know Christmas is on the way when I watch this episode!

The Big Bang Theory: Season 2 - The Bath Item Gift Hypothesis
Penny starts dating Leonard's handsome colleague; Leonard and his friends are tortured by Sheldon's obsession with gift-giving etiquette.

My Thoughts:
Last night they decided to rerun last season's Christmas episode. And I was so glad they did. This one is so much better then this season's episode! I loved every minute of it! Once again it is Sheldon that steals the story. First his obsession of what to give Penny when he finds out that Penny got him a Christmas gift.. then his reaction to that gift was I don't know... it couldn't have been done any better!

Here is a little heads-up for any one interested.. This Christmas Eve on Encore Ave ( Cable service in Canada), there is a broadcast at 8PM PST of this TV  movie:
It Happened One Christmas (1977) (TV)
'Reworking of the 1947 classic "It's A Wonderful Life" has a woman whose life is coming apart despairingly wish that she had never been born. An angel is sent to Earth to grant her wish and show her how her never having been born would have affected everyone else. '
Not available on Video.., so would make for a good additon to anyones Christmas video titles ..
(There may be some American broadcasts as well and if you know when or where , maybe you could post here for others..)
In the 60's, People took Acid to make the world Weird. Now the World is weird and People take Prozac to make it Normal.

Walt Disney's Classic Cartoon Favorites: Volume 9: Classic Holiday Stories
Includes "The Small One," "Pluto's Christmas Tree," and "Mickey's Christmas Carol"

My Thoughts: These are three delightful cartoons.  "The Small One" is another Christian mythology cartoon about the donkey that carried Mary to Bethlehem.  It's a real heart-tugger of a cartoon, even more so than Nestor.  Brought a tear to my eye again, even after being prepared for it from last year.  "Pluto's Christmas Tree" is a funny cartoon about Pluto chasing Chip & Dale who are in the Christmas Tree that Mickey brings home.  Finally, "Mickey's Christmas Carol" is a short retelling of the famous Dickens story with Disney's famous characters playing the roles.  This would make an excellent introduction for young children to the tale, as even small ones would appreciate the cartoon.

My Rating: 2.5/5 (an entertaining waste of time)

Joyeux Noël
It's Christmas Eve 1914, in the trenches of WWI.  An appreciation of music leads to a spontaneous truce between French, Scottish and German troops on the front line.  What place does fellowship and brotherhood have in the midst of war?

My Thoughts: Probably the best film I've watched this month.  Yes, as critics have said there is an unabashed sentimentality to it, but I do not find this a negative thing for this film.  It's a film about humanity, camaraderie, the true spirit of Christmas, and the true horror and cost of war.  A film everyone should see.

My Rating: 4.5/5 (just short of a masterpiece)

Merry Christmas, Drake and Josh
Drake and Josh get jobs at the mall, one as Santa Claus and the other as his assistant. While working, they meet a less-fortunate girl and makes her a promise that this will be the best Christmas ever, or face jail time.

My Thoughts:
Brittany asked me to watch this with her today. I only ever watched a little bit of the series that this movie is based on. But I remembered enough to enjoy the movie. It is definitely more geared towards kids... but I got some laughs out of it. I especially liked Jake and Josh's evil little sister. She had me laughing more then once.

NCIS: Season 6 - Silent Night
During the week of Christmas, the NCIS team is working overtime searching for a prime suspect who turns out to have been dead for 17 years.

My Thoughts:
A good episode. I really liked the Christmas sweater that Goth Forensic Scientist Abby was wearing... a red sweater with a skull wearing a Santa hat.

NCIS: Los Angeles: Season 6 - Brimstone
The team tries to track down a Marine's old unit after he is murdered by an exploding cell phone.

My Thoughts:
Christmas is really no more then a backdrop in this episode. As much as I love NCIS... I have a little trouble getting into this spin-off series. But it is really starting to grow on me. And I found this episode really good.

Wonder Woman: Season 2 - The Deadly Toys
Scary Christmas: During Yuletide, a demented toymaker uses android scientists for a nefarious purpose.

My Thoughts:
The only Christmas episode of Wonder Woman's three year run. It is a cute, fun episode... and as always... Lynda Carter looked fabulous in it.  And she even got to play an extra part in this episode... as there was an android of Wonder Woman made in this episode. So it was pretty cool to watch her fight herself.
