Everyone is talking about tags because it is currently the only way to get clilose to what you want. And it will work. You could decide to make srp your value, not perfect for what you want but it to will work.

We can't make things the way you want, we can only suggest ways to kind of get there for now. Now matter how much you fuss, what you want is not going to happen tomorrow, or I would guess in the next version. I remember waiting 5 Yeats to get better crew data than just director. All you can do is wait and being reallistic I don't see anyone clamoring to say hey great idea. Tag you are it all by yourself, just wait. No pun intended btw

People are just trying to help you with a workaround until the program is 100% to your liking.  If you don't want to be a little flexible until that time perhaps it is best to move on.

Seems to me that what you are asking for isn't something most users really care about.  You also seem to feel that you are entitled to the program being exactly what you want it to be, when in reality it is designed to meet the the majority of needs of the majority of people.  I wouldn't be against adding the fields you requested, but I personally don't have a need for them and IMO Ken's time can be better spent on other needed improvements. 

People have suggested tags because it would be an easy solution for most of the issues you seem to be having.  You keep mentioning other products that already have it, so why don't you just use those instead?

King, maybe you should join the feature request for custom fields because I doubt you'll ever get a fixed field that says "DVD still sealed: X"
