But you are right, I was not aware of this version, probably because, unfortunately, it is not available in my country (we have theatrical release version on DVD, and only director's cut on blu-ray, exactly as we have for Star Wars).

The thing is, while many go back for the "director's cut", they don't try to disregard the originals and act like they never happened. They are offered as an alternative, not the new standard. I do agree about the "beefed up Tatooine scenes" though, they do look much better than the original. I probably wouldn't mind a hybrid cut with these but no Greedo shooting first or the Jabba scene in NH. Changing characters and motivations down the road usually doesn't happen in diretor's cuts, they may be more fleshed out, but not changed.

As for "completing his vision", Bitch please (not calling anyone a bitch, just expressing a thought with light swearing). If this was his vision, they had just as good of sound systems as now, so Vader could've screamed from the get. Like I'm gonna belive that made it through the 2 pervious revisons and the theater run without being noticed, or cuz they didn't have the right mic to get the right tone until now? Horseshit! This has nothing to do with vision, it has to do with tinkering with old shiitake mushroom cuz he doesn't have anything new to add to anything. happy funtimeing hack!

Oh yeah, the audio tweaks being called 'vision' irony is not lost on me. Wouldn't this be his original noise/sound in his head, not vision?

I went to Best Buy yesterday and they were celebrating their 20th year here in the Chicago-land area and gave the first 50 customers a $20 gift card.

I'm going to keep mine and use it on the Saga BR set. Don't know how much BB will be selling them for, but I could get the set for around $70 plus tax, or a little over $10 a movie.

Oh, I'm sure that I'll dislike some of the changes, but may actually like some of them too. It's always been a mixed bag.

The only reason why I knew about it was because someone on dvdtalk forum posted about it there. Otherwise I wouldn't have known.

When I got there about 15 minutes before they opened there were already about 25 people waiting  outside. I sort of had my doubts that they would really be giving out gift cards, I mean you can't believe everything you read on the internet. But I thought, why not. Worth a shot.

Found a nice list of already discovered changes, and believe me, there's tons already and they are getting bad. Ewoks are on meth, R2D2 has a dildo (seriously, what else is it?) and has turned into a mobile Swiss Army knife, rocks appear from nowhere, and Seboca is hanging with Jabba.

Some are good corrections, but more tinkering than fixing IMHO.
