Hmm, rethought a bit of it. Until the titles stay unique I could agree. But if they get reused, I would better think of another possibility.

First thought was that it would be better to use:
Title: Thriller Collection
Edition: 4 Film Favorites
This would a bit like "Gold Edition", ...
Different movies as part of one series.

But according the rules the distinguishing factor should be in the Edition field so this would be more correct:
Title: 4 Film Favorites
Edition: Thriller Collection

But this brings up one Title in many different Editions for the different box sets.

Btw, we leave the original title field in such cases blank, or am I missing something?

I think the title finding in such cases isn't easy. That explains that we've got some different versions in similar box set series.

Provided there are child profiles containing the individual movie titles (probably based on Disc IDs), I'd leave it blank. If the individual movies were all on one disc (not very likely), then I'd use the Original Title field to list their titles.

Yes, they are on two double sided discs, so there are separate child profiles for each movie.

The TCM sets I have are all set up the same way too; 2 double-sided discs.

As I said, until the titles remain unique, I could agree.

And if there are always child profiles for the different movies the title of the movies are still shown.

Do you give the child profiles a Edition to show that they belong to the box set?

Distinguishing Factors in the rules refer to those between releases of the same film(s).

I agree with your assessment analogy to something like "Gold Edition."  There are many such banner IDs:  Vintage Classics; Award Series; ad infinitum.  And we never consider making them part of the title.  If the banner said "Film Favorites" and they were a series of single film releases, we would not even be considering this.  That these are Box Sets makes no difference as far as the Rules or common sense are concerned.
