Hang in there Pete, your Mom needs your strength. To see someone care this deeply in this day and age, is truly heartwarming. My thoughts and prayers for you and your mom and family.

I know how you feel.  Just a few weeks ago my father went into the hospital and we found he has Stage 4 breast cancer as well as cancer in his lungs and through almost every bone in his body.  We knew he had medical problems, but we weren't ready for a diagnosis like this.  We learned that lesson about mortality very quickly.

Best of luck to you and your mom, and treasure every moment you have with her.

I thought I would post a picture of my mom. One of the sweetest, most kind people you could ask to meet. She amazes me as she seems to make friends where ever she goes. No matter how she feels on the inside she always has a smile waiting for you.

Also I find it very heartwarming how nice this community can be when it goes to real life problems and not about some stupid rule interpretaion.

I just now heard from my brother again. She is remaining stable and even though she is still having a hard time breathing... she hasn't gotten any worse. That is my mom... stronger then even I give her credit for.

I don't know if she has it in her to beat this thing... but she is definitely still there and fighting it!

My brother will be staying there until visiting hours is over (a few more hours) and then coming home.
