I understand the point you are making but I am not willing to say any more than I think we can safely presume that some of those variations may well be corrupted and some of the are probably erroneous updates by someone seeking to making global changes. Number one, I don't really care how many there are, it is irrelevant. We laready KNOWW for an absolute fact that Cast and crew listings are not necessarily universal, that should be all that is necessary for any user that is interested in an accurate database to not make global changes. One such error was enough to stop me over a year ago. You will not make me out the bad guy. I agree with you fundamentally on the voting issue. It is rare that i will go help another region/locality but it does happen. Such as our friend from the North Country who like to corrupt Overviews and then try block proper corrections, when suchhappens even I can see the Overview and decide whether it is correct or not. Skip Then this is great!! You have made notes of 36 different variations. Please can you share these with us, here and now, and I am sure all forum members will volunteer and be glad to check our discs (not in storage) and determine if Tim is actually creating a problem. I'd go as far as saying if there are 36 so far that he would probably reconsider the way he is currently cross-pollinating data. Looking forward to seeing them posted here  | | |  |

I won't do that it to smacks of making an out and out accusation. Right now all I have is suspicions, which i will worry about when they come out of the boxes, I will however, think about this for future titles I run into as long as Tim or whoever doesn't take it as an accusation.
What I would prefer to see Tim start doing is two things (1) provide his research, internet, CLT results or whatever with his notes, this is not for ME but for the user community and to provide better refernce data in the future, the other thing I would do were I him is to do as I did, it is what helped discover the problem to begin with. Include in your notes details on what you are trying to achieve and explain that you are aware of the problem and ASK users to help by checking the data against their particular discs, I found the Community to be very helpful about this when I ran the experiment. Iwould then include in my edited notes ANY and ALL verification from users, that way we would KNOW (as reasonably as possible) that the data was checked and verified and it would all be part of the RECORD.

Skip Well, right now you're hinting darkly at an accusation, without stating what the basis of that is. If you have an issue with certain of T!M's contributions, tell us what they are. If you don't want to make an accusation because your discs are in storage, then don't say anything accusatory until you're ready to do so. I didn't bring the topic up. Someone else did, I commented STRONGLY on the matter and as you noted several people tried to present that Ken's comments were being twisted, which I also believe, but the user and some of his friends will not have it. He wants to set his collection asthe Global Standard against the evidence that this damages the database and despite Ken's comments, and he will twist ken's words in whatever way he can to support his position. I have watched all of this many times before on many different topics.
