Very true.  Richierich has come in to ask the question as he is obviously after others opinions on the matter.  Everybody bar one member has given a valid response.  Why not?  Because one member always seems to come across as the Hitler of the invelos (although not as well liked).  I think it's a crying shame that every positive thread comes across this way by the end of page 1 and I thoroughly believe that if Jubal had his posting rights revoked, a lot more people would post without the thought of being attacked for asking a question.

"insulting" and "argumetative". Irony.

Anywho, back on topic, yeah, a No vote is best here, especially if there are errors. If there was a huge update, such as cast and scans and such, I'd do as Voltaire and someone else mentioned and vote yes, but drop a note about the small mistakes.

But a definite no if the only thing updated is WRONG leading to BAD DATA.

you are abusing your voting rights.

That's rich, coming from you. I only see you abusing your voting rights literally every single day.

(Facts and figures readily available upon request: I've got several of these occasions in my voting queue right now.)
Touché!

For me it's quite simple:
- If there's a tiny error or ommission, I tend to vote Yes but mark in my vote the error/omission, asking to adapt the submission accordingly
- If there's a substantial error, I vote No but include the reason why
- If an existing error gets corrected by another error: I vote no and also explain why in my voting notes

I think we've had enough of these pissing matches.  If a user here wishes to vote No, they have that right.  Not one single person on this forum is in any position to decide if a vote is allowed or not.  That belongs to Invelos.  It's time to stop being the police on how we can and cannot vote.

And, if the No vote is being taken personally, too bad.  I have no problem if someone takes offense to the vote.  I only have a problem if the comments for the vote are an attack.  If it is a straight description of what they see as wrong, then deal with it.

Let's lock yet another thread...

On topic, this what I would be inclined to do.

BUT, just as with another user who behaves in the same manner, once the issue is corrected I seldom have seen him return to vote Yes. Skip

Just to clarify this. If the said contribution has additional data which I don't check (ie cast or creditted as), I vote neutral. Or if it has an image that I may not particularly agree is an improvement, then I vote neutral. That is why on occasion you might not see a YES after fixing one of the many problems.

This I am afraid is where you step over the mark and get personal. I'd confidently say no-one else in my several years here has ever felt I'd treated them with disrespect, nor would I be a likely candidate for someone who 'runs amuck'

I am not whining. Please re-read my initial post. It is a question to other users as I was concerned i may have been incorrectly voting on submissions

Back on topic.

Thank-you to most for their constructive comments from both sides of the camp.

I will continue to vote no and leave comments accordingly, unless it is a minor problem within a larger positive contribution, and then it would be fairer for me to vote yes with a comment.

And under the circumstances, richie, I will continue to point your abuse of the Rules.. I would even be willing to accept a NO vote with a PM, to make sure it is not overlooked. But otherwise, you are simply flaunting the Rules as I have described and i will point it out everytime. If you have no respect for me then I have none for you. It is up to you. You want things other than what I address fixed, you know how to achieve it, otherwise FIX IT YOURSELF.

To conclude.

I will not PM. I blocked PM's with yourself some years ago after you tried to get me to change a vote on another contributers submission.

Please ignore my NO votes in future and we can coincide in peace.

Rich.

If a contribution contains errors, I vote 'no'.  I will not PM a user and I will not vote 'yes' with a comment.  I do not review 'yes' votes that I get, so I don't expect it from anyone else.

When it's happened to me particularly on an overview change I've have usually got a 'No' vote and a reason, I will withdraw and resubmit with the correction made, I usually then thank the person concerned on the contribution notes as they have taken the trouble to notice/check and point out my typo. In reverse I would prob. do the same.

As I have noted repeatedly, it is not richie's No vote or comment that bothers me. What bothers me is that until the last couple of days, when I called him on it, he would Vote No but when the issue was addressed that he voted No on, he would not return and vote Yes. Now THISibehavior is what annoys me and that i find disrespectful as well as downright insulting. I find it the same from James. I certainly have no way to explain this behavior other than these users have some sort of an issue, it is their issue and not mine. I don't hold grudges against anybody, but i cannot explain this unacceptable behavior. You vote No and explain the problem, it gets fixed and you then ignore it, excuse me this just flat out RUDE in my book.

I am willing to give these people another chance at this, but if this behavior continues, then NO in my book they are ignoring the Rules and voting based on something else and they can then fix whatever problem they see rthemselves.

So the problem gets fixed I expect to see a response. we will see, I guess, won't we. This does include you to James.
