I'm still trying to find Blade or Tales from the Crypt season 1.

Recent finds:
Hercules/The Adventures of Hercules double feature $3
Flintstones season 1 $3
Dukes of Hazzard season 2,4,5,6 $6 each
Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman seasons 1,3 $3 each
Of Unknown Origin $3 (fun fun fun)
Man's Best Friend $3 (even more fun, doggie cheese!)

Have for trade
Lios and Clark season 1 and 3
Josie and the Pussycats complete series
Peebles and Bam-Bam complete

I'll do 2 of these for Blade, one for Tales season 1.

Passed up because I'm stupid (and had been buying everything under the sun except my real wants)
Superbowl 1-35, 40 disc set for $10. I've already slapped myself twice, so you don't have to.   It was gone 20-40 minutes later when I decided I should've grab it.

Wow, I usually go into my Big Lots on Friday b/c that's when they restock, but went in today instead.  While they did have movies, almost all of their box sets are gone...one whole side had only a couple box sets on it...

Picked up:
Josie and the Pussycats: Complete series (had debated on this one and am glad it was one of the 4 still there!)
Tracey Takes On...Ssn 1

Also picked up Dr. No and saw You Only Live Twice but already had that one.

Looks like the party may be winding down if not over. Saw this link on another forum.

Well, bigdaddyhorse might be right...went in today and while they had stocked, the only set they had was a show called The War At Home.  They did have a bunch of $2 dollars one though...bunch of anime.  Saw Capote, Horse Soldiers, Thief Lord among others.  They seem to be getting in those compiliations that are becoming popular...150 TV shows type thing.

Thought I'd revive this thread a bit.  Went into Big Lots a couple days ago and saw some box sets I've never seen before.  Only bought one (they're 8 bucks), but they combine the first disc of 2-4 different tv series.  They all have themes. The one I bought was called the Classic Comedy DVD Starter Set and had the first disc of the first seasons (so about 4-8 episodes each) of Bewitched, I Dream of Jeannie, the Partridge Family and Gidget.

If I remember correctly they had at least one drama set, another comedy but with more updated shows...I believe I saw at least 4 different sets with different shows in them.

I thought it was a great way of seeing if you liked a show without having to shell out the big bucks for a full season or as a way of seeing a show you watched a long time ago but didn't really have the desire to own the full season/series.

Sadly the BL that was really close to me closed up several years ago and I just don't have the time to travel to the next closest one.

Anyway, I've heard that they cut through the UPC# on the dvds. Is that true?

Because if so, that's a deal breaker for me. I like ,y cases as mint as possible.

Yes, some of them have do have cuts through the UPC codes. I mostly noticed them on Warner DVD's though. Most of the other ones from different studios aren't cut.

Many ones they used to have cut, they now have with white stickers covering the UPC insted of the cut marks. I know this has happened on A Mighty Wind and Exorcist 2, as I bought both there with knife marks and last week saw both with stickers not cuts.    Sucks I can't return mine for uncut cases.

I'm not really saying to wait as many of these are OOP and you might not see them again, but if it's an on-the-fence title with an ugly cut, it could be an opition.

Like the others said, it's hit and miss.  At mine, the majority of them are uncut, but there are a handful that does have the slice through the barcode.  But...my opinion...for $1 or $2 or $3, it's usually worth the sliced barcode. If I were paying full price for some of these, wouldn't consider it but for that cheap.  And I'm usually pretty picky. I'll go through dvds to find one without scratches on the slipcover and shake them to make sure they don't have a floater.

Went in today, some of the Black Friday dvds are still there. Pretty picked over, but still a lot of different titles. I picked up Star Trek Fan Collective: Q for 6 bucks (they had a few of these) and the Polar Express, 2-Disc WS version for $5. Saw a lot of Family Ties Season 4 and Sabrina the Teenaged Witch 1-3 (was looking for 4 and that's the only one they didn't have )
