You are presenting yourself as very selfish, and if it won't be YOUR way, you will quit.
Good lord.
Skip I go by the rules, you're not. The tracks are available in menus, in ANY player, regardless of region. Show me in the rules what gives you the right to decline this submission and I'll agree with you. So far, all you've done is trying to push your personal views on the matter, but not voting by the rules. Moreover, you don't even own this set or a BD player. As such, you can't verify the data I submit. I find it rather hypocritical that you in your voting mention my data is "misleading", even though I clearly state how each track is accessible and what equipment and methods I have used to detect them, and you can't even check that because you don't have the discs. Now who's being absurd? | | | Blu-ray collection DVD collection My Games My Trophies |

| Posted: | | | | I say let the submissions stand as they are. The notes from both camps are pretty clear.
The thread is beginning to turn for the worst. I seriously doubt at this point that either side will convince the other side they are wrong so let's see what happens in a day or so when the screeners look at it.
You may want to PM Gerri to give her a heads up so she looks at the contributions personally. |

In this case I suggest a combination of BDinfo to identify where the main movie is an then tsMuxer to see the video and audio tracks plus subtitles. |

| Posted: | | | | If the audio tracks are selectable from either the menu OR via the standard audio buttons on a standard player, they should be included as regular audio tracks. For the purposes of this, a "standard player" is one regionally coded to the profile's locality, set to the locality's default language.
If they are not selectable via either of the above options, next to determine is whether they are selectable through an alternate button press method or alternative player configuration (not via hardware changes). If so, enter them as an easter egg, with applicable instructions. If not, exclude them. | | | Invelos Software, Inc. Representative | | | Last edited: by Ken Cole |

I have to say that I strongly disagree with this approach, but having said that I respect that this is 'your shop'. Especially the Easter Egg solution seems completely wrong to me. |

No what is sad is that some users have absolutely no comprehension, nor do they care that special steps must be taken to get the hidden audio track (Easter Egg) and they do not care that inclusion of it normally results in data which is totally misleading and confusing to other users as in sufficient information is available to explain it for them. The only way this can be done now is through the easter egg side of the program, the user is trying to apply a Rule inappropriately, which is not surprising since this was not an issue at the time for either the rules or the program. The OP simply wants it HIS way and and cares not what kind of ramifications this may lead to for other users, he only is interested in his own gratification. The contribution has been previously turned down CORRECTLY, I might add. Then we have a user who comes along and makes not only an utterly absurd remark, but a highly inflammatory one as well. This place has become...I can't even adequately describe it..but it is not positive and seems to be getting worse by the day. I saw no improvement even for the few days I was watching and lurking, except that the inmates were even more bizarre.

| Posted: | | | | It meets our definition of Easter Egg pretty well:
"Easter Eggs are extra features hidden on the disc and not accessible through an obvious menu option."
Inclusion as an easter egg is of the most benefit to the end user, who would otherwise be upset if they used our data to select a particular disc for purchase, took it home, and were unable to select the Japanese track. | | | Invelos Software, Inc. Representative | | | Last edited: by Ken Cole |

Perhaps the Programn can be modified in the future for this, but the Easter Egg is the best way for now. It can include the data and the information necessary so that it is not confusing to other users. Skip | | | ASSUME NOTHING!!!!!! CBE, MBE, MoA and proud of it. Outta here

"Easter Eggs are extra features hidden on the disc and not accessible through an obvious menu option." Ken, here I think the problem was that it IS an obvious menu option. It just happens that the option only shows dependent on the players language settings. |

Yes, and if the profile locality's standard language is the one that shows the track, it should be included as a regular audio track. | | | Invelos Software, Inc. Representative |

Tjhough you are on the right track. We not only need a tool, but the program must be modified to be able to add the additional clarity of the Master Language Change setting, which right now can only be done with the Easter Egg. Perhaps a future Program Mod could include something like this. The addition of an asterisk (user switch). Japanese* Then the asterisk would be backed up with *Hidden Audio Track selectable by changing Master Language Settings on deck Or something similar, but that is not NOW. Yes, and if the profile locality's standard language is the one that shows the track, it should be included as a regular audio track. Precisely. Skip | | | ASSUME NOTHING!!!!!! CBE, MBE, MoA and proud of it. Outta here

Is another region coding also an Easter Egg? Red herring and not germaine to the discussion. Skip | | | ASSUME NOTHING!!!!!! CBE, MBE, MoA and proud of it. Outta here
